It’s so hard to know these things in places you’ve never been but it is certainly a hike - especially with one of the village elevators down. There was a moment when I booked a spontaneous boat trip in the Riomaggiore harbor and I would have liked to get something from my room before, but at my fastest without running that’s probably 25-30 minutes round trip. Not terrible, but it’s just something to be aware of.

The location is high up on the elevation which most may not like especially when the elevator up the slope is still under repair. For me, it gives me the quietness. Very accessible to the main street. Lots of good exercises walking up and down the steps

Very friendly host who made me feel very welcome and made great efforts to see that my needs are met daily. Stayed back late to wait for my check-in with patience. I like my apartment being on the ground level too.

Not about the location, just general warning for 5 Terre. It was really hot (also the water) so there were a lot of jellyfish in the water, I got stung and there is only one pharmacy. I recommend to carry some "bite away" if you want to swim in the ocean.

We stayed in Riomaggiore for 4 nights. For me, it's the best place to stay in cinque terre. The hosts were very friendly and made a lot of effort so that we could have the best time in Alla Ripa di Rio. I 10/10 recommend this location for couples, friends and people who travel alone - if you're extra lucky you have nice neighbour's like we did for a chat in the morning or evening.

Location in Riomaggiore was great we were at the top of the town easy access with the town elevators and steps. Owners were great and friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Beds are lower to the ground but comfortable enough. They had water and other goodies for guests. It really is an amazing place do not hesitate to book. It rained while we were there but they had umbrellas we could borrow.

We loved everything about this! Mirko and his team were LOVELY and more than accommodating. So so helpful, welcoming and informative about the area and how to find the place. The room itself was set in a GORGEOUS setting - right on top of Riomaggiore out of the crowds but within 5 mins walking distance to the main part with a beautiful sunrise and sunset. More than recommend this to everyone - we will definitely be back and would 100% stay here again. Thank you so much to Mirko and his team!

Bit of a challenge to get there with the lift at the station being out of service, but this is no fault of the hotel! They provided helpful alternatives.

The hosts were wonderful! Truly welcoming and provided lots of useful information and were easily contactable. They were a definite highlight! The rooms were clean and comfortable and in a good location to the Main Street.

We had the Fossola room. It was very clean, very spacious, with a great view and quiet. The accommodation has a terrace that you share with the other rooms from where you can see the sea and Riomaggiore. The sea can also be seen from the windows of the Fossola room. Cleaning is daily and they provide water and coffee to use at a coffee machine in the room, which is nice. The walk from the train station is super short because of the lifts that you can take and they are really helpful especially when you have luggage. It’s super close to restaurants and bars, you just have to walk the road or use the stairs or the elevator, all options available depending on how much climbing you want. For us everything was perfect.
