Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe street name goes around a corner, so we had trouble finding the location. We had to call and initially the customer service person was referencing landmarks we could not see. It may help for the person on the phone to have photos of both parts of the street to guide people. The landing inside the front door is too small to stand there with a suitcase and close the front door, so you have to take luggage immediately up the very steep steps before closing the door to the street.
This building is really old and charming. Room was large with a lot of character in the architecture and furnishings. The breakfast they provided was great and presented in a fun way on a large double-decker basket. When we had trouble finding the location, the customer service was so patient and helpful on the phone. We also had great communication with host through text on booking.com.

FinlandIt's an old building and that might be one reason why the same level of cleanliness compared to newer buildings is hard to maintain.
Location is good (close to the train station and walkable distance to the center). Staff was very friendly. Breakfast was good (though there should be cold water available freely).

United KingdomThe steep long staircase to access the accommodation. It's impossible to take the heavy luggage upstairs, One young guest and the owner helped us to take it to and back.
Location is great, walking distance to train station, city centre and attractions

United KingdomThere is lots of steps and need to be careful they not even. They could find better way for storage for extra laundry it’s just left in corridor so looked a bit scrappy. I would like a mirror in room as we had room with shared bathroom and we needed to wait for ages just for putting makeup on.
Really liked staying here had reall charm as it really old building. Breakfast was amazing with freshly made eggs. We booked two rooms and didn’t realised that one room with terrace is actually in building next doors so if you book as group and want to stay together make sure all rooms in the same building

United StatesShared bathroom - it wasn’t displayed in title of listing - it was only mentioned if you hit the arrows down for more information. We would consider booking again, but ONLY with a room with private bath.
Charming rooms + the hosts were so kind and attentive during breakfast service. Good AC, clean and comfortable bed. Relatively quiet surrounding neighborhood

United KingdomStairs to the apartment and more stairs to the breakfast room in a separate building. Although the reviews mentioned stairs I didn't realise there would be so many steps!
Very good breakfasts: rolls, croissant, yoghurt, fresh fruit and scrambles eggs or omlette. Very good service in the breakfast room. The apartment with roof terrace was lovely, very spacious with large bedroom , kitchen and bathroom. Good location, not far from the train station.

AustraliaThe only thing that we think is worth mentioning is the very steep steps to get to the actual B&B. We were fine with them but if a potential guest has mobility concerns then maybe enquire further about this. Otherwise we were very happy with this accomodation.
The location was close to the train station which was good for us. And not to far from the historic centre to walk in. The B&B was quaint and quirky and the hostess's Christina and her daughter was very attentive and kind and gave us a wonderful breakfast each morning. Christina was very knowledgable and helpful about Florence, the art work, architecture, museums etc. Thank you for that.

AustraliaGood location, short walk from the train station, about 7 mins. Easy 10-15 minutes walk into the main areas of town. Quaint old world feel to the property. Shared lounge with tea and coffee making facilities and home baked treats. Great cooked breakfast, cooked in the dining area, beautifully set out tables. Self check in with clear instructions provided prior. Steep, narrow stairs to property. Accomodating staff. Happy to store luggage after checkout out.

United KingdomIt didn't bother us, but there are a lot of stairs to climb to enter the property.
The place is very quaint and authentic. The team / owner cant do enough for you. The service is personalised. Breakfast is cooked in front of you every morning - we even had home baked cake, made that very morning :) Owner (we assumed) extremely helpful and welcoming. Easy information to check in. A lovely walk along the river takes you into the main town.

United KingdomThis was comfortable and a good location. However it wasn’t clear that I should use the bathroom in the corridor. I initially used the ensuit shower room and the shower is impossible and even unsafe. The shower should be removed and a notice provided with information about the very nice bathroom in the corridor. An anonymous checkin is not welcoming!

United StatesIt poured rain while we were at the apartment and it seemed that there were some issues with a leaky roof in two places. This likely would not be an issue for regular weather patterns.
The host was very friendly and the breakfast that was provided was so intentional and delicious. We also enjoyed the roof of the building even though we couldn’t fully use it because of rain.
