We loved our stay at this B&B. Everything from the location, to the room and service. What made our stay even more fabulous is Giuseppe, who made sure we had a really great time in Abruzzo. He gave great recommendations for the restaurants and gelateria in town, same for our day trips to S. stefano and Rocca Calascio. I was a little nervous about parking at Sulmona and driving in Abruzzo but with Giuseppe’s help everything turned out smoothly. The location of this B&B was so awesome. I would recommend this B&B to everyone.

I can't say enough good things about Stella CasaBono. The location is beautiful in the historic center of Sulmona directly across from the Chiesa di San Francesco della Scarpa. Our suite had a bedroom and a living room. Both had large windows that opened onto balconies where we could see the church and view the beautiful street that the hotel is located on. Despite our very limited ability to speak Italian, our hosts communicated with ease, were extremely warm and friendly, and took incredible care of us. Breakfast in their cafe was outstanding, fresh, delicious, and they were able to easily accommodate a vegan in our party. The rooms are beautiful. The location is outstanding. The breakfast is incredible. The hosts are wonderful. We honestly hope we get to go back someday soon. Thank you Stella CasaBono!!

Our stay was wonderful - the rooms are comfortable, the breakfast excellent and the location great. But what really sets this B&B apart from all others we have been to is the warm welcome and helpfulness of the proprietors. From the moment we arrived in town and were escorted personally to the hotel from the parking lot, through the detailed directions we were given for touring the beautiful area, the personal touch and attention of the proprietors and the staff were extraordinary.

We liked everything.

The hosts, Roberto and Guiseppe, are wonderful. They are welcoming, kind and very knowledgeable about the Sulmona area as well as operating their hotel in a completely professional manner - they always put their guests first. The location is right in the historic centre of Sulmona, so close to all of the towns interesting sites, to plenty of cafe and restaurant options, and to the marvellous social activity of promenading. Our room was very well appointed with plenty of storage and a very comfortable bed. The breakfast was fresh and delicious and served by Roberto and Guiseppe. Roberto made the time to take us out on an expedition which we could not possibly have achieved without his help.

Everything was great, might say my only complaint is that the room lacked anywhere to put your stuff, a couple tiny tables, no luggage racks, no shelves, no hooks…only a small shelf in the closet but mostly occupied by a refrigerator. We had to put everything in the floor…not a problem on a one night stay, but hard to get comfortable when staying 5 nights and having to pick up everything off the floor every day for the housekeeper. Again, that would be the only negative, and would definitely stay there again.

We really enjoyed our stay, very centrally located, great staff were super friendly and helpful, accommodations were well maintained. It was really great.

There are a lot of stairs- fine for me, but a little tough for my parents. Although, Roberto put my parents in a room will suited to their mobility issues. There are stand up showers. Again, fine for most guests but difficult for me with a baby. I used the shower in my parents’ room, which was bigger.

This is a family run hotel in the heart of Sulmona- a great launch pad for activities in the National Park. The proprietors were amazing. They helped us make dinner reservations, bike tours, & find parking. The breakfast is diverse & tasty. The rooms are very comfortable & clean.

From the moment I arrived, I was warmly welcomed and made to feel like a valued guest. The owners went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my stay was perfect, always ready to assist with a genuine smile. The room I stayed in was both elegant and spacious, providing a comfortable and luxurious atmosphere. The attention to detail in the room's design was evident, and it was impeccably clean and well-maintained. The decor exuded sophistication, making it a relaxing retreat after a day of exploring. One of the highlights of my stay was the private terrace. It was an absolute delight to have such a cozy and comfortable outdoor space. I spent several peaceful mornings and evenings there, enjoying the fresh air and the beautiful surroundings. The breakfast served at the hotel was excellent. There was a wide variety of fresh and delicious options to choose from, and everything was beautifully presented. Genuinely nothing but - as clearly advertise and like most historic properties in Italy, the property has no lift.

The room was comfortable, spacious and well appointed, and importantly cool despite the high temperatures outside. The en suite bathroom was equally spacious. Breakfast was lovely and the location really good. But the best thing was the attentiveness of the owners, Roberto and Giuseppe, who were both so helpful.

The rooms are pristine, beautiful, and well appointed. Excellent location in the center of the old town. Comfortable and quiet. Breakfast was excellent with many choices. The family who owns and runs this hotel are lovely and so attentive and welcoming. The hotel is close to many nice restaurants and the family are happy to recommend. Rooms have Air Conditioning that works very well. The shower is state of the art, water is hot and plentiful. The rooms contain many nice details, such as bed slippers, bottled water, a kettle for tea, etc. Highly recommend, we were here for four nights and loved it!

For those with mobility issues be aware there is no lift and the second floor is up 4 flights of stairs so book for the first floor.

An excellent breakfast not laid out buffet style but bought to you on demand. Attentive and very helpful staff who happily telephoned to make dinner reservations for us in Italian. A comfortable bed and a brilliant bathroom! And you really are in the heart of the city.

Great location and hotel. Owners are hands on, very organized and helpful. They issued a ZTL permit, gave great arrival and parking information, met us at the hotel and showed me where to park after unloading. This made the stay very easy.

Excellent staff. Excellent room and excellent location. The rooms were extremely clean and very comfortable. The breakfast was prepared individually and was excellent. The hotel is run by a family and they are extremely attentive to everyone needs. Communication prior to arrival was outstanding. We were concerned about parking as we were traveling by car and they provided a pass to drive to the hotel to drop off the luggage and they went with us to the parking place which is 2-5 minutes walk to the hotel.

Having to say good-bye and leave!

Stella CasaBono is the perfect place to stay in Sulmona. The location is ideal, on a quiet street yet, near all the area's attractions. The room we had was larger than expected with all the comforts of home. Roberto and Giuseppe were the BEST hosts, always willing to help at any time, day or night. We felt at home from the first moment we met Roberto as he greeted us outside and offered cappuccino before we even got our luggage in! Stella CasaBono is THE place to stay in Sulmona and if we go back, this is where we will stay.

We loved everything!

Everything was great! My husband and I stayed here in February during winter and temperatures outside tend to be quite cold, but the hotel was warm and cozy, and you have control over the room temperature.. Very nice hotel with great location. Sulmona is absolutely amazing and is really worth the visit!
