How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewsweeping views of fields, hillside and groves. sweet little apartment. bed was good, firm without being hard. shower water pressure and temp was great!
not a fan of breakfast in prepackaged cellophane wrappers. had to look up how to use nespresso machine. but these are small complaints! there was a free and delicious olive oil sample.

Verified reviewAn easy to find, secluded little spot. Our little dwelling had all we needed and it was very nice to find unexpected extras like the basket of breakfast goodies (plus things in the fridge) and a coffee machine. Our host was helpful and accommodating which was appreciated.

I asked if I could have clean towels since they didn't change it snd more coffee and they were going to charge me. Today we are leaving and NOT HOT WATER to take a bath. Never come back!
Hello madam, do you still write about us on various portals? It really makes me laugh. I notice that the experience in Italy has remained in your heart. First of all, the person who writes the messages does not remain incognito, but it is me (the owner) and we met the day after your arrival, while on the first day there was my sister, since it is a family-run business she can meet more than one person. Secondly, I repeat that you did not stay in a luxury hotel at €X00 a night enough to be able to ask for the following things; on the first day you immediately asked for 4 coffees and 4 bottles of water for free, in addition to those that are already in the room and are included in the price, and my sister kindly did not ask you for money, after which comes the best part, asking for a bottle of sparkling wine, always free of course, only because she claimed it was their anniversary, but these are demands from a luxury hotel in my opinion. Day two, the lady wanted the towels changed and new coffees and various capsules added for free, But when she saw the price list she immediately changed her mind saying she didn't need them anymore, did she want to stay here for three days without even paying for a coffee at the bar? It doesn't seem right to me. The linen is changed regularly and for free after the third day of your stay and not even 24 hours after your arrival. The broken boiler was your invention to justify your 1 since when I came to knock and see that everything was working she closed the door in my face, slamming it and starting to scream. I left shocked and I was even too kind. To be honest, on the first day my sister even offered to accompany her to our town to make an appointment for a house for sale and this is the thank you? Putting aside her commitments, for you, always for free of course. As far as I'm concerned you should only be ashamed. Anyway, you can continue writing anywhere, the previous reviews speak for themselves, the problem with this review will be immediately clear to everyone. Terrible people. Never again, I hope.

Verified reviewI am still thinking about our stay at this place!! At first I wasn’t sure whether to book here but it exceeded my expectations in every way. The room was really clean and had everything needed. We were given a lot of breakfast items (just like in their photos) which we snacked on even days later. The highlight of our stay was the private patio outside our room which offers a beautiful view at sunrise. I’m not sure whether the room was what we originally booked or if we were given an upgrade. Make sure to book the room with the patio (it’s worth paying more). And also make sure to wake up early to see the sunrise. I promise you its worth it 😍 The accommodation also has sheep and it was so nice spending some time with them before checking out ❤️ I also really appreciated how they take recycling seriously. However, just a tip to the owner… it would be better to have shared recycling bins instead of having them in every room to reduce plastic waste. But other than that, thank you for being mindful of the environment!
Hi guys, we are speechless for this beautiful review. We are pleased that we appreciated the country spirit of our farmhouse in all its facets. Best regards!

Verified reviewVery nice agritourism right next Bomarzo Holy Forest. The owners are friendly and very helpful, and they also produce and sell amazing honey I'd reccomend you to try!
Breakfast could be improved, but even though it does not include fresh products it is still quite rich.

Verified reviewVery well situated, in olive fields, close from the Bomarzo gardens but also from the old city centre. Very useful advice from the owner about places of interest in the vicinity.
