Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

ThailandThe day I checked in a woman got stuck in the elevator for a while. Even though it was fixed afterwards, I was afraid to use it, so had to carry my baggage up and down the steps when I checked in and out.
The room was simple but clean, but the shared kitchen and living area is quite spacious. The staff (or owners I am not sure) helped me call a taxi and find a place to store my baggage while I went out on the check-out day. That was really nice of them.

LithuaniaThe only concern is absence of strong air conditioning. It was very hot during our stay and it was the only negative point.
The property location is very convenient- easy to drive, 20 minutes from historical city cathedral. Best thing about property is parking- a huge advantage. Property is clean. Communication with owner is easy via wattsup and instructions how to get to property- very clear and helpful.

SloveniaThe beds were really uncomfortable. The view from the room is the view of a road.
The accommodation offered parking in a garage. The instructions were great to reach it and that was very, very important to us. It was really practical to reach the room with an elevator. The accommodation was close to Siena, just a short walk to reach to center, so well positioned, even though not really in the center.

UkraineA bit far from the historic city centre (18-20 min walk) and not really close to the train station (about 12 min walk). Very small shower cubicle, no shelf for shampoo/shower gel and very slippery floor in the cubicle. The toilet cistern did not work very well, water did not stop flowing after pressing the flush button once.
Small residence with several rooms, no reception. The keys to the front door and to the room were kept at the entrance, in a box with a code lock. The code was sent over the internet. The communal kitchen was standard: large fridge, microwave, dishwasher, coffee machine for ground coffee (coffee and tea were available), cupboards held spoons, forks, plates, glasses, sugar, salt, and there was a litre bottle of water in the room. I did not use the kitchen except for the fridge where I kept the food and drinks I had bought. The wi-fi worked without problems. Quite good accommodation, but I think the price is a bit high. And I would be quite satisfied with the cost of one night if it was not more than 50 euros, not more expensive almost one and half times.

Perfect choice for who travel to Siena by car. The property offer a sicured parking lot right underground of the building. About 10' walk and you find yourself in the center of the beautiful Siena. Our room is quite spacious and clean. Comunications with the host is very sufficient.

CroatiaA little bit overpriced for what you get. It could have been decorated more welcoming and warmer. Problem with toilet flush and a lack of natural light.
Room is 15min walking distance from train station and to first old city walls is 20min walking. Location is good, in residential area. The type of accommodation is actually a flat in a residential building, which has 6 rooms with private bathrooms and kitchen is shared so you can prepare yourself breakfast, lunch and dinner. Kitchen is equipped with some dishes and you have coffee machine with coffee too. My room was for one person, it was clean and isolation is good.

United KingdomWe weren't sent instructions on how to let ourselves in, we managed with some ropey Italian eventually, so wasn't a big deal but I don't understand why the keysafe code wasn't sent as default in the morning. It took 2 texts and 2 calls to get in. The room is very basic, but if you're there to see the city, and it is a place to rest your head without needing a beautiful place to stay then it does the job. Take city tax to leave behind in cash in the room (2 euro per person per night).
Short walk to the train station and the city walls in the other direction. It is quite a stark modern building, there were signs for you to find the right corridor which is lined with lovely flowers. It is a large apartment with 6 en-suite rooms that all lock, so there was privacy, it wasn't noisy and it was large enough. There's a coffee machine, large fridge etc. in the kitchen. There is a bus stop opposite to take you to the bus terminal.

ItalyAs a personal preference, I would switch the light bulbs to warm white to give a more welcoming feeling.
Great position to visit the center of Siena, 500m to the escalators leading directly to the historical center. Rooms are basic but provided with all that is needed (towels, basic toiletries) and are also sufficiently clean. The owner is an exquisite person, we had the occasion to have a nice chat with him during which he also gave some useful tips.

PolandAt the very beginning I was a bit stressed, as when I came, nobody was there and I didn't know what to do. It might have been misunderstanding (I might have been expected earlier than I actually arrived) as the landlord doesn't really speak English, however we had no issues to communicate with the assistance of google translator and eventually all worked well.
Very clean place with all what you need for a short stay. Very comfortable beds, well equipped bathroom, wardrobe, table with chairs, TV set and even shelves. Very clean and convenient. A bit aside of historic centre but still walking distance to both - centre and train station (about 1km to both, if not less)
