Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomExcellent location for visiting Cinque Terre. Location very central. Parking space right under the hotel in secure location for an additional charge. Room clean and good size. Although above train station, not noisy.

United KingdomPictures of the quadruple room didn't match the room we were allocated. The bathroom and bedroom were half the size, and with 2 teenagers plus parents, it felt a bit of a squeeze. The staff offered to move us for the second night, but as we were leaving the next day isn't wasn't worth moving. We would still recommend the accommodation for the location alone.
Lovely clean room and comfortable beds. 2 mins from the central train station, so great for day trips. We had the breakfast option and enjoyed going across the road for coffee, orange juice, and pastry.

HungaryThe breakfast was only a coffee and a pastry, thats why the price value ratio isnt the best.
Very good location next to the railway station and bus stop. Perfect if you want to visit Portovenere and cinque terre. The breakfast was in a nearby cafe, but it wasnt much only a coffee and pastry. The room was modern and clean. I think its a good place to stay

United StatesWe were very pleased with our experience and cannot find anything we didn’t like
Great location, clean, and very welcoming and responsive staff. I have stayed with my family of 5 to visit the Cinque Terre. Casa Dane was the best option for us. We arrived by train and they are right at the train station, therefore it was very convenient to get the train to and from Cinque Terre as we were right there. Also, we did not experience any noise from the trains despite the fact that our bedroom was right on top of the train station. Breakfast was also included in the price. It is not in the same building but it is a short walk to a bar; quality of pastries and cappuccino was great!!! Staff was very welcoming and responsive, they gave us directions and tips for our trip itineraries, and that also allowed us to leave our luggage there in locked boxes before and after checkout to adjust to our train schedule. Definitely a place I would recommend to anyone!!!

United KingdomHotel address/directions were inconsistent with Google maps, staff could have been more helpful at check-in, breakfast was very basic. The online description of hotel & room did not quite match the experience.
Great location near station. Basic rooms, clean and and with comfortable beds.

AustraliaNothing. It was a lovely stay
Location is perfect! Easy walk into the town for delicious meals and to explore. Great spot to visit the Cinque Terre. Comfortable room, great size for family of four. Water pressure spot on for the shower. We had an added bonus of a small patio with washing line to hang clothes for drying. Paolo is a great host with a wealth of knowledge. Thank you!

BelgiumIt is right on top of the railway and you climb many stairs but this was not a problem for me and it was convenient to catch the train
Great value for money and very clean especially if you travel by train, real Italian family business ready to help you with everything and to guide you, we loved them and they run a great honest hotel, no question is too much for them We loved La Spezia. The train for Cinque Terre is right next door and so is the closed parking

United StatesThe bed was a bit hard and the separate mattresses are always a bit awkward. There were a few steps to be mindful of when bringing any luggage.
Central location, quiet even with being next to the train station, good AC, and the breakfast vouchers were a nice touch.

AustraliaNot much to complain about. Maybe a little more floor space for anyone travelling from overseas to place suit cases in the 4 person apparent. But overall very happy.

CroatiaLittle hard to find since both maps and waze didn't recognize the street and was directing us one street below the train station. Would suggest to add a map with roundabout and direction where the aparments are to the booking pictures.
Location is really great if your intention was visiting Cinque terre, right at the train station. It was a heat wave during our stay and air conditioning was working great. Clean and big bathroom, more than enough towels, for 1-2 nights stay the room is great. Fridge to cool your drinks or keep some snacks. Great and friendly staff speaking english. Got a coupon for breakfast nearby and a reservation in a garage not so nearby. Garage place is quite small so keep attention while parking SUVs.

AustraliaThe Cafe Elite breakfast voucher provided basic Italian breakfast.
Situated above the railway terminal we avoided "bag-drag" exhaustion .... but there were three flights of stairs. Unless you opened the window for fresh air you would not hear any railway traffic so that was amazing. We slept well. It is close to amenities (there is a laundromat about 200m from Casa Dane but you have to search for it!), eateries and attractions. Just walk. The staff were helpful and courteous.

AustraliaThe stairs but it’s only one flight. The Ac was a bit weird switching off and on. Room was small so having big bags meant little space to walk around the bed
