Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

North MacedoniaDue to a strike my train was cancelled, there was also a storm and no available hotels. Around midnight I was lucky to find this room. It only took me a few minutes from Roma Termini. Great location! I was tired, wet from the rain and irritated, but the guys at the reception were so kind and friendly that I forgot all the chaos that was happening to me. Тhanks guys for the air conditioned room and safe stay.

ItalyThe AC has some annoying sound which creates a little disturbance. Minor but the toilet has no inside locks. Also, the doors that separate the reception and the room have no inside locks.
The room is in the center of Rome, just a few steps from Rome Termini station. The room is amazing and highly recommended at this price, especially for those who want to value money. Also, the room is excellent and affordable for those who travel with their families. The owner is nice and has very good hospitality.

United KingdomWhen I arrived the proprietor was genuinely concerned that my room was up several flights of stairs and I am elderly, but I managed OK. Very central, but not disturbed by traffic.
The owner and his brother were unfailingly helpful. The room was large, as was the bed, all spotlessly clean with a large bottle of mineral water in the fridge, at time when Rome was at it’s hottest for years, and regularly replaced.

AustraliaThe bathroom was in need of a little attention - the sink tap was not secure and only one appliance in the shower worked (so it could have been explained when we entered the room). The coffee making facilities were simple - pity no milk for me and add a teaspoon! Otherwise fine. It was very expensive considering that some of the facilities were a little under-par.
It was a safe and secure location, and comfortable. The bed was comfortable and we appreciated the double glazing to keep the traffic noise outside. Assad was very friendly, helpful and immediately helped us with our luggage (up and down) and contacted a taxi for the airport which arrived before time. He stood with us in the cold at 4.20 am to track the taxi. Thank you!

Francethe experience was very disappointing overall. The room was on the 4th floor with no elevator, which made it very tiring, especially with luggage. There was no cleaning service during the entire stay. One of the receptionists was unwelcoming and unprofessional. Strangely, his colleague – who is not even a receptionist – was much more helpful and polite. There was no clear signage to access the hotel. I rang the bell several times, and no one answered. Later they told me it was not the right bell, even though the hotel name was clearly written on it. They also didn't answer the phone, and then claimed I had called the wrong number, even though it was the number shown. And finally, when you enter the building, the first thing you see are garbage bins – not a pleasant first impression at all.
The only positive points were the proximity to public transport and the cleanliness of the room. However, the experience was very disappointing overall.

United KingdomNot sure if we had booked the last room, keeping in mind we didn’t see any other guests there while we were there, but the room we were given was directly attached to the ‘reception’ (which literally just looked like a living room more like). So, we could hear the gentleman on the phone very loudly from our room during the night. Also just didn’t make the room feel private as we knew how accessible our door was to the reception. The room was fine, beds and bathroom weren’t great though.
Great location, most attractions were walkable and super close to the train station. We were able to store our luggage. The gentleman that helped us was very kind.

United StatesBath tub cracked and water leaking from under the tub after showering. Have to step on water to use the sink. Staff won’t give extra towel to clean water. No daily room cleaning and refill soup and shampoo. Bed is squeezing when moving. No elevator for large luggage. I stayed 5 nights and cost over 100 Euros. Not worth the cost of staying here.
Near train station and Metro.

HungaryThe dinginess and discoloration of the furniture and the rugs on the floor are kind of off putting. The floor sticks to your feet in some spots. The bathroom is a little bit scary. Everything is corroded. The WiFi is not functional.
The location is very convenient and there’s a supermarket across the street. The staff is very friendly and helpful and they make an effort to make sure your stay is as comfortable as possible. Almost everything in the room functions to some degree or at some times. The refrigerator worked. The shower worked. It just wasn’t always warm, but it does play music sometimes if you get the buttons wet.

UgandaThe place is near the Roma Termini and thus worked for us in all aspects. It was easily accessible and made it easy for us to access the buses, and the trains It was also a great start for our Roma City tour.
The host Saadi was great. He was pleasant to deal with, answered all our questions well and was kind enough to keep our bags until evening without asking for extra pay on the day we had checked out.
