Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaAir conditioning was extra? 10 euro per day- I have never experienced this in Rome- city tax- far more at this hotel than at other hotels. My sons and his friends stayed here- I was at another hotel- my city tax was 6 euros- here it was far more. How is that possible? Won't recommend this hotel to others. I travel to Rome every year and have never had to pay additional for air conditioning.

ItalyFor price transparency the air conditioning should be included in the price instead of being billed as additional expense.
The hotel is located nearby the Vatican and not far from the metro of Ottaviano. The staff is exceptional. Very kind and efficient. Many thanks to Sabrina and Elisabetta.

United KingdomTiny tv screen with only Italian stations, but then we didn't visit Rome for that. So it's a non-issue, really. No kettle or small fridge.
Within walking distance of basic amenities, transportation, and major attractions (if you don't have issues walking). Friendly and welcoming staff, both young ladies. The one on check-in and the one on check out. Took time to orient us to our room and how things worked. Really appreciated this 😊

RomaniaThe shower cabin didn’t look its best - rust around the edges. Aside from the fact that it was quite small :/ The toilet paper that was in the bathroom when we arrived had a THICK layer of dust on its side. We also noticed different stains around the bathroom - the cleanliness in there could be better. Apart from that, a few other minor things : There is no hanger to place shower towels in reach from the shower, or a proper place to put whatever shower gel you are using inside the cabin. There isn’t a place to store toothbrushes either - there are single use plastic cups provided, but they do not stand up if you want to keep your toothbrush in. Easily fixed with a hanger for the towels, a small rack for soap and a more sturdy cup :) The walls are quite thin, you can hear everything from the neighbours (talking about inside the hotel, not outside). The hotel is on a busy street, the outside noises are inevitable. But better insulation inside should be possible
The location is quite central :) There is a bus station right in front of the hotel, and grocery stores right around the corner The staff was nice enough to allow us to leave our luggage with them the last day The shower had almost instant hot water And we also enjoyed the free Wi-Fi :)

SwitzerlandAs there was no restaurant in the hotel, a small coffeemaker, water-heater/tea would have been appreciated. Too much people everywhere and the buses always overcrowded, but that's not the hotels fault..
Very well situated, independence with your own key (reception 8 to 20) Walking distance from most of the interesting sites. Otherwise we used public transport, after buying a 48h travel card, covering all means of public transport during this time and @ only 12€50, quite reasonable. Concert of Progressive metal one night (fellow Swedes Pain of Salvation), opera arias the other.. The first was the reason to come, the second we found on the spot.

FranceThe fact that we have to pay 10 euros per day for air conditioning :/ and there was a beer can cap and an old empty tissue packet under the bed; it's not really a big deal but it would have been better without this.
Very comfy bed, the air conditioning that worked very well, the spacious bathroom with good water power for the shower and a really good location and such a lovely staff !

PortugalBad noise isolation, hotel is located in real apartment building, so people are living there constantly. I was unlucky, my room was located on 4th floor and every day at 06:40 am someone on the 5th floor was making terrible noise. Hotel stuff told that they couldn't do anything except informing building administration.
Location is great, 5 min walk from Vatican. 20-25 minute walk to the tourist city attractions and Navona Square. If you don't want to walk a lot, metro station is located 11 min walk from the Hotel.
