It was extremely hot when we visited and the stand alone air conditioning units did a job but not as well as built in units - this didn’t really bother us though as the property is so old and steeped in history, that was more important.

We loved our stay here! As a family of 4 with two young kids the pool area was perfect and we loved that we had our own designated pool side area with gazebo and sun loungers. The breakfast box deliveries in the morning were wonderful - fresh pastries, yoghurt and fruit - which we could eat in the privacy of our apartment or on our balcony. The staff were very helpful and gave us local restaurant recommendations. We were very sad to leave and will be back!

-strange that lunch is not an option, also drinks are not available -breakfast soso, and quite simple -sleeping on the couch and sitting in the chair. Both are old and depreciated and up for replacement -restaurant, we had tuna and meat and were not feeling well for several days. Freshness and preparation of food questionnable

Special experience to stay in a place with so much history. Very comfortable, high quality. Lady at reception was very helpful. Spot on with recommendations for a nearby restaurant. And the breakfast box was worth it. Loved that it was so close to Pienza and Val de Orcia.

The heating of the living room stops working at night and we can’t control it in any way. The dishes and kitchenware was all IKEA, in a place like that I thought it deserve something better. The history of the abbey and all the history behind the scene is nowhere to be found in the lodging it’s such a shame.

The abbey is beautiful as well as the rooms, very rustic. Staff super helpful. Lovely breakfast although not with regional products which I thought would give an extra to the deal.

Considering that we were in the low season, there were no restaurants available, even in the surrounding area, and the breakfast was reasonable. So, you must be prepared to cook and wash your dishes.

The atmosphere, the room size (looks like an apartment), silent and comfortable. The surroundings are amazing, it’s a typical Tuscany experience. The property is wonderful.

This is a majestic property and we felt like we were being entertained by nobles. Our room was spacious, quiet and comfortable. The individual breakfast hampers were very substantial and were delivered with a smile. This was a very enjoyable and memorable experience.

We stayed for 3 nights, and when they asked if we wanted breakfast (because it is not included) we said yes. They brought breakfast the first morning, but the second morning they didn’t. Then they told us we need to request breakfast at reception every day for the next day. This seemed a bit ridiculous as they didn’t tell us that at check in and you don’t need to do this anywhere else. Also the notes saying we must clean up everything after ourselves because ‘we do not pay a cleaning fee’, I should hope paying €163 per night DOES include a cleaning fee as I do not pay this money to sweep floors on vacation.

Very beautiful location. Stunning castle. We stayed in the royal suite which was amazing and equipped with a private large hot tub on a loft upstairs. The water was always really hot and the beds are really comfortable.

The stay at this place was incredible. We booked this accommodation for only one night, but immediately after checking in, we were delighted with this atmosphere in the 13th century castle and extended our stay for another night. Very beautiful area and incredible views. The room had everything you need for a comfortable stay. We really recommend everyone to stay here

Not that these are real downsides, and they don't affect my rating in any way, but there was a humming sound in the bedroom at night, possibly from the air conditioner in the neighboring room. I hope this information will help the hotel management improve the situation. Also, the kettle in the kitchen wasn't exactly a kettle — it was hard to get boiling water for tea, as it was just warm.

A wonderful hotel with very green surroundings, and everything is thought out to the smallest detail. It's very quiet at night, and we slept great — the mattresses are very comfortable. The breakfast is served in a unique way, with options for sweet, savory, or gluten-free meals. The location is very convenient; from here, we visited many cities in Tuscany as well as local wineries.

Other than the bed, the furniture could use an update. Also, to boil water in the milk-foamer is a bit odd... However, overall still very recommentable.

The building is beautiful, with each room having a lovely little private terrace where breakfast is served. Breakfast comes in a little box to your room, so you can enjoy it when you want, in all peace and quiteness. We loved the concept and allowed us to truly enjoy the spectacular building. Also, the bed was really large and comfortable. Mosquitonets in front of the windows were great to enjoy Toscany's cool evenings.
