How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Verified reviewThere is an Italian breakfast if you opt for it, that is left in the kitchen. The area is good. The room was big.
Parking is tricky, you are lucky if you find parking near. If you are traveling by car, you can't enter to the pedestrian area. We were lucky we found one, across the street, but there is a possibility the car can be towed

Verified reviewIt's in a nice area with lots of restaurants and markets, and there is a nice restaurant around the corner called Osteria Milanese that's definitely worth going to. The host (Franco) sent clear instructions via WhatsApp about how to get to the room and how to check in/get the keys etc, although we never met or saw him or his staff at any time during the stay.
The common area is a bit cramped, so only one of the two rooms can really eat breakfast at the same time - during one of the mornings the other room left all their dirty dishes behind instead of cleaning up after themselves and we also noticed that some of the condiments (jams and honeys) had expired, and the croissants were a little stale. Also, the toilet hadn't been properly flushed when we arrived, which raises some concerns if the rooms are properly cleaned between hosts.
Good evening Eli, thank you for your review that has allowed us once again to verify our staff and our cleaning protocols. Unfortunately, a lot of time has passed from the date of your stay to the date on which you sent your review and verifying what you report is really difficult. I assure you that as owners we personally and daily verify the cleaning carried out by the staff (not only when guests change but also during their stay) and the correct replenishment of the kitchen for the self-breakfast breakfast and we have never found or left expired food available to guests. I would like to hope, given the repeated attestations of correctness and satisfaction made over the years by guests for both cleaning and breakfast, that this is a mistake. Everything neat, clean and tidy.....plenty of good restaurants close by and close to the city....20 minutes walking to the Duomo as an example and plenty of good public transport close by.....breakfast is continental and you help yourself, but very nice. The staff/owner are remote but helpful by WhatsApp if you need them.
I was a bit dubious about the no staff and the seemingly complicated instructions to get in but it's worth it and it's not complicated at all.....and as hotels go with the cost of milan, 2 Navigli was priced very reasonably and, in my opinion great quality.....

Verified reviewThe room was big, the location was central (on top of Naviglio Pavese) and buzzing, but we did not hear any noise in the room during the night. The instructions to find the place and to access the room were very clear, the room was clean and cosy, all the facilities were quite new and the air conditioning in the room was a blessing!
The only thing that could have been improved upon was the shower. All the rest was very good, and the shower was not a big deal overall!

Verified reviewFabulous apartments with every modern convenience thought of. A true gem sheltered in the tranquility of a courtyard, off a bustling strip of cafes and restaurants. Wonderful continental breakfast in the shared kitchen. A must stay if you're looking for your own private space.

Verified reviewThe breakfast and snack offerings were generous and very good quality. The rooms have been modernized and were very clean and well maintained. I appreciate the added touches like makeup remover towelettes, and chocolates. Great location for food and drink options.
The instructions were very detailed, but the exterior entrances to the building were a bit confusing and we had trouble calling the number to open them. Once in and figured out it was easy to get in and out.
