Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GreeceWe had to carry heavy luggage to the second floor, but this goes for almost all apartments in Tuscany, since they are old buildings with no lifts. We have to note that this did not make our stay any less excellent!
Excellent room, Medieval style, clean, amazing decoration in the waiting room just outside our room, very close to the Piazza del Campo. Francesca was very clear and helpfull with all the information we needed. Free parking space for our motorbike right next to the entrance of the building. We had a great time in Siena, thank you Francesca for everything! Alex, Konstantina.

United StatesWe were glad to have reliable directions using Google maps because it can be difficult to find locations in a medieval city. We had no trouble with the stairs to get up to the room but this could be a challenge for a traveler with mobility challenges or someone traveling with a large suitcase.
The location was very convenient to the main sites in historic Siena. The room was spacious and clean comfortable. The room was on the 3rd level of a building with access by the stairs. There was coffee available for us to make in the morning. She gave us great recommendations for dining.

United StatesTop floor of the building and doesn’t have an elevator. But it’s only 4 flights of stairs. Once you see view of room you will forget about the stairs!
View from the room was amazing!! Thought its a little hike it’s worth it!

United StatesParking, parking, parking. We were not aware that parking was not provided, which we may have missed during the rental. This required to park outside the city and walk to the location. For my wife and I this was not an issue but people should be aware of this. The upper room, which we took, was great but for some people the stairs might be an issue. This was in the posting however it doesn't really prepare one for what is there. Again, for us it was fine, but the 2 couples we were traveling with did not want to try the stairs; their loss - our gain. :-)
We took advantage of ordering breakfast to be delivered to the took and were pleasantly surprised. We also felt the cost for this service was fair. The room we stayed in had fantastic views of the city on 3 sides and morning sunrise was really nice to see. The room was very clean.

The rooms are in an old building, they are very spacious and decorated with a lot of taste. Location is perfect: in the center of Sienna and close to a parking if you come with a car. There are also great recommendations of things to do, where to eat...

United KingdomThe stairs, it's a long climb, but then you don't come to Italy without expecting it if you want a view. Don't let it put you off- it's worth it!
This is an exceptional abode, not for the faint hearted if you have luggage to carry but the climb to the top is worth it to sleep amongst the rooftops of Siena. We saw a lightning storm in the distance and woke to a pink sunrise and swifts feeding and the sound of church bells. A delightful breakfast served on vintage china on a tray in the room made for a very relaxing start to the day. Big comfy bed dressed with antique linen covers and the simple but tasteful styling, all in white, made it a peaceful haven. Francesca was a welcoming and very helpful host, giving us an earlier breakfast and helping us to get a taxi.

FinlandThe room is on the second floor and there is no lift. Can be a challenge with luggage. In the room the TV is really small, but then again - who watches TV on holidays :-)
Nice big room! Breakfast was made by the order and delivered in your room at the desired time. Very nice. Location was great, few blocks from Duomo.

The central location with easy access to the Duomo, the central square and the many osteria’s in the neighbourhood. It was spotless, full of charm, the room itself was very large. Just picture perfect in such an old city. Staff: easy to communicate with.

United KingdomBench seat, although gorgeous, was a little wobbly. It would have been lovely to have had a cosy chair to have stretched out on with such a breathtaking view - but this certainly didn’t detract from our stay and we we would 100% stay again.
Incredible panoramic view of the city with an exceptionally comfortable bed; I woke up this morning and simply didn’t want to get out. Cosy, practical room with tea station, little fridge and desk. Love the clean, contemporary aesthetic. Highlight was listening to the bell towers chime each hour whilst we drank wine with the window open - bliss!

United StatesWe were not deterred in the least by the many flights of stairs we had to climb with our luggage, but if several flights of stairs would be an uncomfortable challenge for you, this accommodation would not suit you.
We loved our stay. Our host was very responsive and helpful. The location was convenient for all of our needs and the street was quiet. Breakfast was delicious and beautifully presented and served in our high-ceilinged room at a table for two in front of the large window looking out at the rooftops beyond. The furnishings in the room were lovely and there were lots of interesting, artful objects to look at and books in the common room.
