“The view from house is amazing, the apartment is very big.
But the best is the owner Vincenzo that cared for us like for own family 😊- even took us to the town 10 km far as there was no bus, he really helped us a lot even if he didn't have to 🙏
we recommend to stay in his house, the hospitality, location, everything is perfect. Thank you so much!”
“The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fantastic and we sat out in the courtyard to eat. The room we had was a very comfortable split level space with everything we needed, and the building itself is located in a beautiful & peaceful location overlooking the valley.”
“The ethos of the project is incredible and I think they've really succeeded in many ways conceptually. The room was really beautiful and the attention to detail and care that was put into each element was breathtaking. From a sustainability point of view, there was nowhere we stayed that came near it. No plastic, natural materials, repurposing and using antique furniture. There were lovely details like the complimentary bottle of genziana and the bath oil, beeswax candles. The village of Santa Di Stefano is truly incredible and it's good to see it being restored with respect to what was there before instead of the extreme facelifts that we saw in other Borgos in Abruzzo and Umbria on our trip. The village still has its soul and personality. The breakfast was really delicious and extensive, lots of local products (and again, no plastic!).”
“Peaceful oasis on the hills! Everyone in the Convento was so helpful and kind. The view is exceptional, overlooking the old gardens and down into the valley. Breakfast was particularly impressive with a huge range of options including local meats and cheese, all very fresh. I loved that almost nothing was in plastic compared to some of the places we stayed on our trip. I've seen other commenters disappointed in the 'upkeep' of the gardens but I'm happy to see they've turned most of the old gardens into a rewilding project for a butterfly garden. Much nicer than manicured lawns in my opinion!”
