The kitchen only provides a tea kettle and a microwave. For those away for the day visiting sites, it would be great to have the full kitchen open to prepare meals when we return back to the hotel as everything in the area closes quite early.

The location is great and it was clean and suitable to share with friends. The breakfast options are also wonderful. Absolutely recommend it for friends or families traveling together. The owners are kind people.

The room was perfect for our requirements and very clean. Checkin process with a code was easy to use. Breakfast was delicious. Hotel is in a great location.

This isn’t a ‘dislike’ against the property or management because we really liked everything. We stayed for two nights and on the second night there were guests using the breakfast area until late at night, talking and laughing loudly. Our room was the one closest to the breakfast area so the noise prevented us from having an early night’s sleep. They might not have known that our room was so close. Maybe a policy for quiet hours could be introduced to prevent this in the future.

Location was great, in the center with eateries, a Bonus grocery store and petrol pumps within 5 minutes of the hotel. Room was clean, cosy and well heated and toiletries provided. Additional small touches like chocolates and a ‘comfort kit’ were a bonus. The buffet breakfast was tasty with a lot of variety (including fruits and hard-boiled eggs) and always replenished immediately! Although there wasn’t a shared kitchen to use, guests could use the breakfast area to heat food (we bought pre-packed food from Bonus) in the microwave and make a hot drink (various types of tea, coffee and hot chocolate) using the kettle provided. All these complimentary items were always well stocked. Philipp, the staff, was exceptional! Always friendly, pleasant, helpful and approachable. It was lovely interacting with him and exchanging ideas. Helped us a lot with tips on driving around the Snaefellsnes Peninsula. If you are looking for a place to stay in Stykkishólmur, this is it. Excellent quality price ratio! Stykkishólmur is a quaint town well worth exploring. I highly recommend this hotel for its location, comfort and of course, the-ever- helpful staff! 😊
