The location and the view! Very quiet, the closed-in porch was great for making room in the rest of the cabin.

The mattress of the sofa bed was not so comfortable, it was bending a little in the middle, but that's the way with almost every sofa bed, and we stayed only for one night, so it was not really a problem.

The location around was amazing! We were facing down a river, hearing the water flowing, and on the back we had another river. The cabin itself was really big and had everything we needed. It was very clean and tidy.

As mentioned above, it is a quite old house and you could feel that in certain spots. For example the bathroom in the basement - and actually the entire basement - has a somewhat mouldy smell. A little renovation here or there would definitely help.

We had the largest of the houses there, which would have offered space for 8 people. At the same time it was probably the oldest house. Apart from the abundant space the place offered two benefits worth mentioning: 1) The excellent location overlooking the glacier 2) A terrace with a private hot tub, from which the view could be enjoyed

The location was great, and our kids loved playing in the fields behind the location. Running up and rolling down the hill. Fit our family of five perfectly and would recommend this as a good fit for families.

Very close to ring road. We booked two cottages between our family of 7. The loft cottage seemed newer and better equipped than the 3 bedroom cottage. Peaceful location, good for overnight stay on Ring Road

The duvets had really old covers and were very scratchy. We are not that particular about these things but this was so bad that it was very uncomfortable to sleep in.

It was a clean place and had everything we needed.Kitchen had condiments and stuff that we needed for a quick meal.

It felt too minimalist, eg, a mirror in the bedroom or picture might make it feel less stark.

The location is absolutely amazing. Even if we had one of the smaller cottages, it was big enough and we were pleasantly surprised how efficiently the space was used. The bathroom felt big and the kitchen had everything you might need. The heating was really fast. It was a really confortable and relaxing stay. A small suggestion would be to install a blind on the door as well to help block all light during the summer nights (all the windows already had blinds) - but we had no problem sleeping as it was dark enough to sleep.

Just a few minimal things: Bigger curtains to block the light at night, and a clean electrical kettle since there were some rusted debris inside and wouldnt come off.

The curtain on main door is not very solid so plenty of sunlight comes in the room very early in the morning due to Iceland’s early sunrise

It would have been nice to have a dishwasher (there is space for it) and a small freezer (a lot of frozen food is sold in large quantities you can't eat in one meal). One word of advice - keep the windows slightly ajar at night as they steam up a lot and cause a build up of condensation.

The cabin is modern, comfortable and warm. The remote location is ideal for star gazing and Aurora spotting (we saw the Northern Lights on our first night!) but it is also very easy to reach, just off the No. 1 motorway, around 25 minutes from Vik. The kitchen has everything you need to cater for 4 people - induction hob, oven, microwave, toaster, kettle, filter coffee machine and fridge (but no freezer). The two single beds and the sofa bed are comfortable and the shower facility modern and clean.

The Texture of the bed covers was not good. Maybe new and not washed but the finish was scratchy - should be smooth to go against your skin.

The cabin we booked is in great need of some upgrades. The door was very difficult to open and the overall conditions are lacking some love.

A shovel would've been handy, but as we rented a car we brought a mini collapsible one with us which we used to shovel our way out the door.

Stayed in cottage #4 with the loft. The kitchenette had everything we needed to cook up a meal. Great location - not far from Vik and just off the Ring Rd. Wish we were able to stay longer - arrived in the dark in a blizzard and left in the early morning hours in the dark. Would definitely stay here again!
