Great hotel: clean, comfy, great breakfast spread, amazing views on the lake… overall a nice experience, including the bonus of the little hot tubs to soak in after a long day. They even provide you with a bathrobe. Perfect location to start off your tour around the lake and visit all of its amazing natural wonders. There’s also a nice caffe with cakes and gift shop just across the parking lot.

The cost. This is a very nice hotel, but IMO it is over-priced, as are most all the lodgings in the area. It is the one down-side to staying at Lake Myvatn.

This is a beautiful hotel in an amazing location. The Lake Myvatn area around the hotel was everything we hoped for and more. The trails around the nearby lake offered excellent walking and hiking. The hotel is quite close to other area attractions including the Myvatn baths. The included breakfast was exceptional with more choices than one could hope to work through in a stay of several days. Dinner in the restaurant was also very good and service from hotel and restaurant staff was very good. We enjoyed our stay.

Ideal location for exploring the Mývatn area, with easy parking and excellent facilities. The staff were extremely helpful and kind, making the stay even more pleasant. Dinner options were perfect, whether à la carte or buffet, and the buffet breakfast was very nice as well. The local beer was a real highlight. Highly recommend this place!

Some areas of the hotel are older and need future renovations. But this definitely won't affect the stay and experience.

Some aspects of the property are ageing but it is well maintained and cared for. Nothing negative to say.

Good location, great to have the restaurant on site - remember to book in high season. We didn’t have the time to use the free hot tubs but this was a lovely touch. We had everything we needed, and with onsite parking. Extensive breakfast - we especially loved the lava bread. Lift to room was a bonus. Helpful and friendly staff - thank you for a great stay!

They have a wide variety selection of breakfast and we really liked it! The staff are approachable and superb. It was one of the final nights to witness the Northern Lights before summer took over the skies and we got to see them just right outside the hotel.

A nice hotel directly at the lake Myvatn shore, standard double room is comfortable with regular bed, good mattresses. Clean bathroom, enough space in the shower. Breakfast was phenomenal for Iceland accommodations. We had fresh waffles, variety of ham, cheese, bread (also local rye bread, which was delicious). Marinated herring, smoked fish, bacon &eggs, fruit salad, yogurt and cereals. The hotel also has thermal baths or pool, which was available until 10 p.m. (we didn’t use it)
