How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Hotel was overbooked and we were booked to another hotel in the city. Unfortunately we were only informed about this at 10pm when we got to the reception, I wish they told us before so that we could have avoided the back and forth..

The room was very hot and when opening the Window the noise from the traffic was very loud since the room was facing the highway. The darkening curtains didn't keep the light out. The room needs an upgrade since it's very old-fashioned.
Very friendly staff 😊 Good value for money.

Comfort Island Hotel which we had originally booked a few months ago somehow double booked our room so we had to check into another hotel which was close by. We were told the hotel we went to was better but we had no way to compare. Surprised in this era a hotel could double book a room.
The hotel we eventually stayed (201 Hotel) was nice. The room was small but had clean bed linen, toilets and showers so we were happy. Easy drive to airport in the morning.

All good.
Comfortable and convenient stop over for one night. Reception staff member was very helpful and friendly and a nice welcoming to Iceland. Close to quick food options and easy parking.

If you're a light sleeper you might want an eye mask and ear plugs. Like many accomodation places in Iceland, they seem to have not yet discovered blackout curtains (somewhat surprising for a country that experiences 24 hours of daylight for a fair chunk of the year) and the soundproofing around the windows is fairly poor, so you can hear the main road clearly. The shower doesn't have a shower curtain, which was a bit odd, but the bathroom does have a bath, which was nice and the first time we'd come across that during our trip.
The room was sufficiently spacious for our needs and the bed was comfortable. Staff at the hotel were friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was ok, if a little expensive for what was available. We felt the location was good. If you want to be able to walk into the city centre easily, then obviously, this place would not be the right choice. It is a short drive into the centre from here or a bus journey. In terms of ammenities and access, the location was good. There are a couple of good eateries a very short walk from the hotel as well as a shopping centre and other shops close by. The hotel is next to the main road so getting to other parts of the city or out of the city is very straightforward. We felt the trade offs were worth the lower price as it wasn't praticularly inconvenient to just drive for 10-15 minutes to where we wanted to go.

The variety of items at the continental breakfast felt poor, compared to other places we've been to, but at the price of I think £14 per person it was still cheaper than going to the shop. Nothing prepares you for the Icelandic prices. There was a faint smell of rotten eggs coming from the open drain in the bathroom which intensified when taking a shower.
The hotel and the room were clean and the staff pleasant to deal with when we saw them twice a day. Despite there being maybe 15-20 spaces in front of the property, parking the hire car was easy, although it was the middle of April - considered off season in Iceland. We ended up staying here because of the great price and were only looking for a place to sleep comfortably. The beds were a joined twinned with two sets of duvets. We had fulfilling sleep for the entire stay.

House keeping seemed to be restricted to emptying trash and replacing towels. The very dusty carpet under the bed stayed dusty throughout the week.

Optimal location with close proximity to offices and a shopping centre. Good for travelers with rental cars, but city busses are also available by the Smáralind shopping centre.

Simple hotel with a good quality-price ratio. 15 mins away from Reykjavik center. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. If you are looking for a more economical solution close to Reykjavik where you can stay one night, this might be a valid choice
