How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Very clean and modern with great meals at the restaurant. Also loved the hot tubs outside! The personnel is really kind.

Bathtub was slippery and could use a mat.
Clean. Very helpful staff. Staff even helped us figure out how to use the the electronics on our rental car. They provided tea, coffee and cookies in the lobby all the time. No stairs. They loaned us an electrical adapter

Only small complaint was road noise when taking a walk. Really minor as the views from the property were very nice.
I was impressed with our room. Plenty of space to spread out. Furnishings like new. Bathroom exceptional. I especially liked being able to take a walk and see all the horses. Staff friendly and very helpful and accommodating.

Staff prioritised the large coach groups so difficult to get service at meal times. Breakfast was a bit if a scrum at 7am when it opened. The chairs in the bar area are now very worn and tired. Quality of dinner has gone down since my last visit - food now plainer and more basic (fish and meat were over cooked and very limited menu).
Second visit to Eldhester. Rooms recently refurbished but it was very busy with coach parties and we felt a bit second fiddle to the large groups. Complementary tea and coffee in reception all day (no facility in room) and lovely hot tubs overlooking the horse paddocks.

No laundry. The laundry at near by camp site is very small and busy . Hotel is little expensive like everything else in Iceland.
Great location. Awesome breakfast . Very good staff . During breakfast saw some guests mixing the bacon spoon with egg. Please keep them separate . Because we don’t eat any pork meat like ham/bacon/sausage .

We had a perfect stay at this guest house! The room was beautiful, very comfortable, and offered a lovely open view — perfect for relaxing. The breakfast was exceptional, made with delicious local products. The hosts were kind, welcoming, and attentive, which made our short stay even more enjoyable. The blinds were a little dirty, but considering the horses in the area, that's OK.

I always like a coffee pot in the room. The rooms where little outdated .
It was nice to be able to start the day with a good buffet breakfast. There was many selections including meats, eggs, waffles and much more. Having the stables on site is a plus and location is good for tourist attractions.

The staff were all kind and helpful. Dinner and breakfast were tasty. We enjoyed watching the horses. Coffee and tea in the lobby ‘hit the spot’.

The hotel is cosy and clean with a great resturant in which you can taste local specialities. The location is quite. It provides free tea, coffee and cockies in a common area. The view is amazing. Friendly for hourse riders.

Everything was great
The hotel is beautiful and very easy to reach, right on the Ring Road. Breakfast is very nice, just like other breakfasts we had around Iceland. The room is large and comfortable and I liked the window/balcony with direct access on the parking There are 2 hot tubs but we did not use them

Including a refrigerator in the room would be nice since my friend and I cooked for a couple days prior and had food that needed to be refrigerated.
Staff was friendly. Our bedroom and bathroom were surprisingly super big! Everything was clean. Breakfast buffet was decent and well-stocked.

Location just off the highways, but quiet. Breakfast was a wonderful spread. Check in easy and very friendly ( everyone in iceland was amazing) This is a horse facility. Just lovely. Room very comfortable..we like the window open at night..the only thing missing would be a screen for the windows.
