I really loved the Guesthouse 46. The owners are very nice - we had a brief interaction at check-in and then the next morning during check-out and they were very nice and kind. While not necessarily in a tourist hotspot location, the guesthouse has a very nice view over the bay and a deck that can be accessed from some rooms and a living room. We had a twin room which was quite basic but absolutely sufficient with comfortable beds, clean and nice linen and warm blankets. Even though breakfast is not "formally" offered, the hosts had generously offered a selection of delicious jams, honey, butter, bread and juice, which one could use for breakfast. There were clear instructions on how to use everything taped around kitchen and elsewhere. With such nice hospitality, the price was also much more affordable than most other places we've stayed at during our journey. So this place is definitely highly recommended!

The deck with the ocean views was awesome! The kitchen was well stocked with equipment! The host and other guests were all super friendly! Would definitely recommend a stay here during a road trip!!

Everything was truly amazing. The place is super clean, has a wonderful view on the water when it lucky you can see whales. The hosts are absolutely lovely, very welcome and helpful. The best place we stayed at in Iceland

This guesthouse felt more like a mini hotel stay. Its very spacious. It is newer construction and very modern and clean feeling. Large kitchen/ dining area. Each right side room has a slider which opens to a lovely deck. We saw whales in the water from our room and a beautiful sunset around 11:30p. Host supplies bread and jam for toast as well coffee and tea. Host is onsite and very friendly. Highly recommended to others traveling the ring road. Book early. For those staying here dont miss Kolugljufur Canyon which is nearby and notso well known. Its BEAUTIFUL! Havitserkur is also a nice destination but much of the drive is gravel so plan your time well.

The rooms were very hot, likely due to the weather for our stay was warmer than average for Iceland, with bright sunshine streaming through windows.

Pleasant location on outskirts of town. Nice bright rooms, ours overlooked the beautiful bay. Decking outside rear rooms, good for birdwatching or enjoy the sunset. We were also fortunate to see a humpback whale feeding in the bay during our stay. Good kitchen/ dining facilities for stay in dinner.

It was incredibly hot in the living room (and no temperature regulator to be found). Small room for two people, but no window but rather a big glass door, which is suboptimal if one wants to have some fresh air during the night.

Toast and selection of jams available for the taking in the morning. Friendly host, very tidy and spatious common rooms.

It was hard to sleep due to the very warm room and dry air, though that’s a personal preference. The beds in adjacent rooms are positioned on the same side of the shared wall, so you can even hear others sneezing.

Very nice guesthouse with a fully equipped kitchen and bathroom. Everything was clean and comfortable, and check-in was very easy. It was the best option of the entire trip.
