A bit less polished than in pictures, but that’s ok; Worse was evening staff (one foreign girl) was cranky and not welcoming whatsoever and we did not get dinner although other people were still eating. Thanks God, I was ready and we could make our own dinner in the green house. I told them that we are coming from our wedding ceremony, but just got weird looks and cranky short answers. Mood killer, but oh well. I loved the owner with the parrot and old grandma next morning.

We had dinner and breakfast, and both were incredible! Ingredients were mostly local and produced at Heydalur, and everything was so fresh and delicious. The facilities are amazing - beautiful views of the valley, hot tubs, and the rooms are super cozy and comfy. Can't wait to go back!

The indoor pool could use a good cleaning and resurfacing. The rope swings are dangerous. It was all pretty disgusting.

The room was large and comfortable. The hot pots near the hotel were wonderful. The property is in the middle of nowhere and peaceful. The dining room reminded me of an Adirondack lodge. Beautiful. Dinner and breakfast was fabulous. Very friendly staff. We used the hot pools before breakfast and that was a treat.

All the staff is very accommodating from horse back riding to helping my kid getting a photo with their bird. Food is amazing and not that expensive as well (we tried lamb stew, puffins, meat lasagne & the blueberry dessert). Hot pool available with shower area. Strategically located for a 1 night stop to break the driving within westfjords. Amazing view on the valley.

Our stay was truly enjoyable. The room was simple yet functional and comfortable, providing everything needed for a pleasant night. Nestled in a serene valley, the hotel and camping area offer a peaceful retreat immersed in nature—an ideal place to unwind and relax. One of the highlights was dining in the beautifully converted barn, where we savored a delicious meal in a warm and inviting atmosphere. Breakfast was equally fantastic, featuring freshly baked bread and homemade jams that added a wonderful touch to the experience. Although we only stayed for one night, we thoroughly appreciated the tranquil surroundings and the thoughtful hospitality

The place was amazing! It felt cozy, the food was amazing, the pets were adorable, we went swimming in the midnight and watched aurora, did some hiking and simply relaxed. One important thing to note is if you are arriving here during winter, expect a difficult driving as you will need to pass mountains with slippery road, so be sure to rent a 4x4 SUV or Jeep.

Extraordinary, warm and wonderful place. They have their own hot springs on site, inside and outside hot tub, thermal swimming pool, spacious and clean rooms and a big open central restaurant area where they serve breakfast and dinner. The staff is fantastic, friendly, kind, and helpful. Best accommodation we had on Iceland!

This hotel is an absolute gem. It is in a beautiful location with so many opportunities to hike and explore, ride horses, take dips in multiple hot pots or the swimming pool in their greenhouse (these are all accessible at all times during your stay) You are given free rein to explore the valley and canyons and we did so, got a bit off track but it was always easy to follow the river back to the hotel. The restaurant serves a delicious breakfast and dinner (and probably lunch, but we didn’t partake). It’s nice because you feel like the staff are pretty much available if you need them, but let you roam as you like. With Bangsi, Loki (the farm dogs) and the farm cats (didn’t catch their name) and the horses, and everything else, the whole stay feels like something I dreamed up as a child come true. Thanks so much and we hope to come back soon..

Toilet was too low to the ground and the shower curtains kept blocking the drain when showering.

The animals (dogs, cat, parrot, horses) on the farm were friendly. The geothermal soaking pools were nice and relaxing.
