Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandThe guesthouse is located near the airport. Everything you need is in the hallas - a kettle, coffee, tea, a toaster and a table with chairs. Comfortable and clean bathrooms with towels, shower gel and hairdryer. Breakfast at the hotel across the street was delicious, perfect after a long journey.

CanadaNegative guests who complain about Icelandic air putting them up in the “bad hotel”, which isnt in the hotel’s control.
Great guesthouse, id actually say it better than the main hotel that in my opinion looked tacky. Very quiet aswell and the bathrooms while shared were kept nice and clean. Definitely would stay again! The breakfast at the main hotel was also very good… and free!

Czech RepublicI can only recommend.
Room was OK - clean and comfortable. Shared bathroom and restroom were clean and nice. In the hall there was a toastmaker and kettle with tea or coffee for guests. Late check-in was possible. Breakfast was super delicious - the best we had on Iceland.

United StatesThe room was very small. It was hard for 2 people with 2 suitcases to standup at the same time in the room.
Very easy to find and friendly staff!

United StatesOn the website, it advertises pool, sauna, and spa experiences. However, access to any of these are actually about 60 euros. I understand that spa services cost more, but was disappointed that the pool and saunas were behind a paywall. Additionally, in the guesthouse the doors are heavy and loud. This could for sure be a bit disturbing for light sleepers, but didn't bother me much.
The beds were comfortable and the property was definitely clean. I loved the showers (with heated floors!) and found them relaxing after a long week of traveling. Also, the location is great with less than 10 minutes to the Keflavik airport.

PortugalThe only thing we can think of - upon arrival, late and in heavy snow, it wasn't immediately clear where the main door to the guesthouse was but the very friendly receptionist helped us to work it out!
Our flight arrived at around 2am so we wanted somewhere close to the airport. The room was small but super cosy and the beds were comfortable, we had a good nights sleep. In the morning the shared bathrooms were always available, spacious and very clean. A 10 second walk across the road took us to a fabulous breakfast (including great coffee)- amazing to have this included in the price. It really set us up for the day. A taxi into Reykjavik cost a a huge amount, however, it still worked out as a cost effective option, as it was much cheaper than a night in a central hotel, and much closer to the airport. A great option if you have a flight arriving late or an early departure.

NetherlandsRoom was good enough for us but it was very small/narrow so beware if you have a lot of luggage.
We spent the night here before our early flight home. The reviews I read were a bit mixed but it was great! Neat room and very clean and modern bathroom. Microwave, water cooker etc. in the hallway. Breakfast at the main hotel location across the street was very good and open early enough for our flight (5am). Staff was very friendly and helped us book a taxi.

NorwayThe room was very small for a family of four. Two bunk beds and a small desk with a fridge underneath. We were not going to stay long there, we went just to sleep before our flight next morning so it was ok for us.
Very clean and modern bathrooms and amazing breakfast! The location was very close to the airport which made it perfect for early flights.

United StatesThere were only a few things I didn't like, it was the cracked mirror in my room and the strong fishy smell at the parking lot, but that was unavoidable since it's located near a seafood processing warehouse.
I loved the breakfast every morning and free parking. The guest room, shared bathrooms, and common area were very clean and well stocked. The hotel staff across the street from the guesthouse was very friendly and welcoming to me. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

It’s very clean, rooms are ok (not incredibly big but not small), but the two bathrooms for 6 rooms are clean, big and very comfortable. Breakfast was fantastic with lots of variation. There is no kitchen, but the guesthouse has a boiler, toaster and microwave.

CanadaTransport to the airport was way too expensive for a 7 minute ride. Would check around for better rate. But driver prompt and friendly. The booking.com website didn’t have newer pictures so we weren’t expecting this amazing facility , but was an unexpected, wonderful surprise. Don’t know about busing to downtown but would need service as location good for airport only.
Right from our first encounter with reception the stay was a magical highlight of our trip. The spa is a must- fabulous. Elegant , modern and luxurious appointments. The room so comfortable and not bad size. I wish we had tried the restaurant and bar. Wonderful menu , very social setting and looked beautiful. There were local restaurants, bars and a good grocery store to walk to. A shout out to the charming , gracious Romainian spa staff ( forgot her name ) she was delightful and made us feel so welcome. Loved all the little snack dishes throughout the hotel !
