Reviews of Hótel Dyrhólaey 3 stars

Located on a hill a short drive from both Dyrholaey and Reynisfjara, with the town of Vik just a little further down the coast. The hotel is nestled between farms and other guest houses. Great panoramic views of the coast and surrounding countryside. Both breakfast and dinner are buffet style with a good and varied selection, eaten in the large dining room with panoramic views. Rooms are of a good size, well appointed, and with comfortable beds. Staff are friendly and and attentive.

The room was spacious and clean. The location is very good and the staff in the restauranr was very, very friendly. I dont want to say bad things about the hotel because the staff was so nice.

The price vs quality ratio is ridiculous. For 400 euros you get a room with no view, outdated furniture, a tv that shows 20 versions of CNN but no apps. It's all very 1990's (i was alive back then). You pay for location, thats it. Dinner buffet was equally too expensive for what you get. Overall the room was good but not worth what theyre asking. Ill look for airbnb next time.

The location

The morning manager was rude to me.

Really the only thing to like is the location for this place if every other option around Vik is taken. I booked our vacation late and this was all that was available in the Vik area. The bed was comfortable and the place was clean so it served it's purpose.

It caters to the bus crowds. It says they have a restaurant ....it's buffet style. It's a shortish drive to Vic for a good dinner. The breakfast is plentiful....but was not up to the standard of the rest of our served breakfasts in Iceland (quality). No view from room, but the dining room had a view.

Comfortable clean room, good wifi, and well located for sightseeing in and around Vik. Good view from the room. Very good breakfast buffet.

I was completely satisfied with my stay at the hotel, I do not have anything negative to say about my accommodations, services or the location.

Too expensive and dated facilities

Great location near the black sand beach with beautiful views. The room was spacious, and staff were very friendly and accommodating — let us borrow a fridge and freezer. Breakfast was nice, and free parking was a big plus.

There were several flies in the room which was unpleasant. The price was quite high (335 per room per night), but considering it was August and near Vík’s great location, staying one night was acceptable.

Perfect location with stunning views on iceberg or sea. Big and comfortable beds.

There was no hot water after 10 p.m. !!!!!!! We really did not appreciate it, because it was quite expensive room.
