Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Disa and her dad are amazing hosts. They answered all my questions and gave me some really great advice for my trip. The room was great and there is a bus stop right in front of the house. Supermarkets are pretty close too. I enjoyed my stay a lot.

SwedenPerhaps that it was closer to central Reykjavik, but in my opinion this is only an issue if you which to spend several days in Reykjavik (which i dont rely recommend doing sine the nature is the selling point for going to Iceland)
Great room and separate bathroom. Awesome host. Enough places nearby to chop for food or go the restaurants. Free parking easy access from main roads. And honestly compared for what you pay for a room in Reykjavik this place and what you get for your money is a barging.

We stayed here for three nights during our 10-day trip to Iceland. Disa she is a very warm and beautiful host. The house has been renovated for 5 years and is still in progress. From the furnishings in the house, we can see her design intentions! We are very lucky to meet her boyfriend, who is a professional composer and plays traditional and modern folk songs on the piano. He also performs at the Icelandic Harpa Concert Hall.Thank to Disa we stayed very comfortably for three nights in Iceland. The bus station is right next to it, there are parks nearby, delicious bakeries and ice cream, everything here is so wonderful 😊

United StatesThe roof was under repair which was unexpected but turned out not to impact my stay at all.
It’s close to Reykjavík but not too close. The downstairs bathroom is lovely with a big bathtub. The bed was comfortable and cozy. Disa and family are friendly. Nice small but separate kitchen.

United StatesI'm a solo traveler, and the place is not in the center, so I couldn't book excursions leaving from the center. Especially the tour to see the Northern lights. They usually return late, and I was afraid about traveling late in public transportation, if there was 🚌 at 2:00am
The owner was not physically there but stayed in contact most of the time. Always giving information and providing help.

Close to everything, especially the botanical garden - our first stop - and the public hot springs for the neighborhood, with swimming pool - our second stop. Recently renovated to a very high standard. The house has been in the family for many years and Herdis, the latest owner/granddaughter of the last owner, takes a great deal of pride in her long Icelandic family traditions. She was very interesting to talk to about Iceland past and future and took time with us from her busy schedule to discuss matters important to Icelanders such open grazing and economic development.

United KingdomThroughout the check-in process, everything was extremely smooth and Disa was able to help us check in to the property even when she was out. There was a small mistake from my end as I had booked the wrong room type but this was also settled very easily with no stress in a friendly and agreeable way. The property itself is wonderful and very recently renovated and very tidy, it’s the perfect door into the real Rekajavik and you get a very warm and friendly hug like being at home, which is really what you want. Disa made the effort to even take us out to a concert to truly experience Icelandic culture. That was special and unique. Disa goes above and beyond to make sure guests are comfortable and happy. So much so that when we returned to the capital we had booked a different property which was really below any reasonable standards I connected Disa straight away and was able to experience this wonderful property for a second time. Excellent property, excellent owner, excellent location.
