Absolutely wonderful experience at this very accommodating guesthouse. You can tell how much effort the owners have put into making it comfortable and welcoming. There’s one full bath with a shower and another half bath, which is very handy if the shower is in use. The rooms are lovely, the beds comfortable, the linens clean and cozy, with extra pillows and towels provided. The kitchen is extremely well-stocked, yes, there’s now a colander for those who were wondering, plus plates, cups, and cookware. Guests need to bring their own food (breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, etc.), but there’s coffee, cooking oil, and a nice selection of spices left by the hosts and previous guests. Everything is impeccably clean, decorated in soft, muted tones that make the space feel peaceful. Despite the rain during my stay, I still enjoyed the hot springs right across the street, and even joined the locals for a swim in the ocean—they treated it like a sunny summer day! There’s a clothesline out back, though I wouldn’t recommend using it in wet weather unless you want your clothes wetter than when you hung them up. The host has a great sense of humor and is wonderfully welcoming. The location is fantastic—about 12 minutes from the ferry dock, not far from the Red Sand Beach, and of course, steps away from the hot springs. Overall, a fantastic space and perfect base for exploring the area.

The dish soap was very low. Other than that, no issues!

The view from the room is fabulous! The place is well set up and comfortable. We loved relaxing in the natural hot pot across the road at the end of the day. Perfect!

Place was spacious, clean and comfortable. Equipped with everything we needed (even games, books and a guitar...). Host was great and super no ce. He came over espiacially to answer see.questioms we had and to give us useful information and some great advises about places to visit in the area (and he know a lot!)

Beautiful house in front of the sea. Super large kitchen dinning room and living room. Rooms have a décent size and bedding is super confortable. Walk in shower that made is super easy for me. Best location close to latrabjarg and RAUÐASANDUR. Could spend a week of vacation here.

Not enough bathrooms when is full and rush hour. No toilet paper in one of the bathrooms and nowhere to find. Host aren't there so difficult to ask for such stuff

Best place to stay in all of Iceland! Beautiful accommodation with the scenery of the Westfjords surrounding you. A guesthouse with all the amenities needed for a comfortable stay, and a wonderful host who is a wealth of information and fun to be around. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Kitchen is small and not very well-equipped.

The view of the mountain at the back of the house. A short walking distance to the beach and a public swimming pool. A short driving distance to Flokalundur, where there is a natural geothermal bath by the sea. The host Rocky was super helpful!

I found our quadruple room a bit too small. We were using it only to sleep, still there was little space for our baggage.

The perfect, beautiful and peaceful location. The dining area was wide and bright and the kitchen had so many amenities. Our host was very helpful and nice.

We had to dress our own beds, which was a bummer when we were so tired, but it’s not an uncommon practice.

Loved the place. We arrived late at night, totally exhausted, and the big, bright, clean, comfy space was such a nice surprise. A warm, cosy hut in the middle of nowhere, with great views. Kitchen provided everything for cooking. The blinds and curtains properly kept the sun out during the night.

The apartment was very well equipped with kitchen amenities and spacious. The location was to die for, View from the rooms was spectacular. Wish I could have stayed a few days more.

We didn’t realize we’d have so many amenities available! It was great to have our own full private kitchen, a living room, etc. The kitchen had all the cookware and utensils you’d need. There are not many restaurant options anywhere nearby (because of the remote location), so it was great to have that kitchen and fridge. We also found the place to be spotlessly clean, easy to find, and comfortable. We did not have a chance to meet the hosts, but it’s clear they are very nice people. Also, we found this place to be very reasonably priced. With so few options for tourists exploring the Westfjords, they could charge more and there wouldn’t be much we could do about it. But they charged a fair price. We would definitely stay here again. :)

Quiet, picturesque, with a hot spring by the sea across the road. Enough living space and gorgeously soft beds. Ideal for walks by the sea, epic hikes, or drives. Or just sitting, reading and writing, in the sun (we had fab weather). Hotel Flókilundur 15 km east does food every day 12-21, and has a self service petrol station. Otherwise people: stock up before you arrive. There is a fridge and a freezer here! If you fear the drive through the mountains, take the boat from Stukkurholmen to Brjanslækur, about 10 minutes east. Tak fyrir Rognvaldur!
