Reviews of Baron's Hostel

They provide soap, towels, tea and coffee for free. Many food items left by other travelers to share. Beds are comfortable. There is a huge bathroom with a shower on the 4th floor. There are many other washrooms and shower rooms on either floor. Location is fantastic. Only 15 min walk from BSI bus terminal or to the waterfront. There are 2 supermarkets within 20 min walking distance. One could see northern lights from the waterfront in late August!!

There should be a second kitchen sink for the many people staying there. The white man staff is friendly but the asian staff could smile more. They are all helpful though. There is no lamp at each bed.

The Location and the mindset of sharing food between the travelers. There was a spot where anyone could leave food for sharing with the rest.

Room was very small and uncomfortable. I was trying not to make noise to wake up the rest of the people, there was a light always open and the curtains could not stop the sunlight in the morning. I barely slept, every time the person below changed side all the bed was moving. The toilets were super dirty, smelly with water everywhere. The showers were divided with just a curtain, I didn’t feel welcome, I was just counted the hours to leave. For a group of people traveling and staying in the same room maybe a good option, for an individual like me for just the need to take a hot shower and a quiet sleep I wouldn’t suggest during high season. Maybe off season where you can be alone or just two people in the room could be better. But the dirty bathrooms is a thing

The staff was sooooo good to me. I was near exhaustion when i arrived and they helped me through the brain fog.

Location is great.

Had a cold shower, very poor ventilation in de room causing a lot of condensation to appear everywhere even when it was summer time. Reception not manned when i wanted to check out

This is the best hostel in Reykjavik and maybe in the whole of Iceland. Lot of (free) facilities, cheap, good location, clean, nice atmosphere and very kind owners. Highly recommended.

Shared bathroom so sometimes it's dirty after used by other guests.

The staff was so helpful. I made a terrible mistake in "timing" and they were so kind and helpful. I hope they see this note to learn how important their kindness was to me.

Good location near city centre

It would of been a perfect review but the power outlets didn't work in my room.

The hostel is close to the city center and for Reykjavik the price is very attractive. Towel is in the price, which is always good. No key for the room, you get the code to open the door.

The room was comfortable and clean. It's a calm and safe hostel.

There were only three bathrooms and three showers on one floor. There were more showers downstairs, but they weren't many, and they served that floor, so they weren't worth much. Sometimes I had to wait to use the bathroom. Everything was separate. I had to shower in one place, brush my teeth in another, and go to the bathroom in another. It's neither practical nor confortable.

Great hostel, 10 minute walk to the city center and 11 minute walk from BSI bus terminal. Nice big kitchen for cooking with a view, has everything you need.

It would be nice to have lockers in the room. There is enough space for them. They only have small safety deposit boxes.

The location is amazing, it is reachable by the public transportation and walkable distance to the city centre. The bed is comfortable. Showers clean and spacious.

The kitchen is quite dirty, it would be great if it would be cleaned and organised more often. The jalousie in the room were broken, so you could not properly closed them. There could be bed lamps. I wanted to ask something at the reception a few times and almost never had the chance as the reception was mostly empty.

The location was good and as far as I could tell the kitchen looked good (we didnt cook there). The staff were very friendly and provided excellant service.

It was a little dirty in the bathrooms sometimes and the mattresses were not that comfortable.
