Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech RepublicSmall itches like door into room broken, not accurate info about parking, poor breakfast. And on the end a lot of push messages like :What time will you leave and you did not reply etc. Guys, honestly, this is awful and I will again totally ignore such pushy messages. If the check out is at 11 - give me a break.
What to say, intercom for self check in dis not work, person on the other side was helpful. Rooms are ok and nice, bathroom great. Door into room a bit cranky, need some repairs as you have to push a lot. Elevator worked but slowwwww. Breakfast tired and for such nice accommodation step back. Not nice and staff unfriendly. Could be much more nice with not a big effort.

RomaniaThe bed was made only for 2 people. After approx 7 phone calls and one hour wait I managed to get somebody on the phone to ask for the 3rd bed. I received instructions how to make it myself. I ve noticed the prices in Iceland but the one I payed here includes full service. I was glad to leave because I was afraid that in the morning they will make me clean the rooms in the entire hotel.
The self check in was fast. It was warm and quiet.

United StatesWish the technology worked better and parking is really hard to come by. There’s no official parking for the hotel so you might end up paying for parking each day or struggling to get a free spot.
The property was clean and very comfortable to stay in. The owner is very helpful and has tutorial videos he made himself for stuff like where to park and how to do things in the hotel. The hotel is for the most part self service for entering and checking into your hotel which can be frustrating when the pin pads don’t want to load properly. We had a hard time getting in and out because of the technology not working 100%. I would absolutely stay again though and next time we would opt to do the meals at the hotel for 20$/day because Iceland is expensive and we definitely could’ve used more balanced food than we ate.

United StatesThe breakfast was pricey and poor.
Even though it was a self check-in hotel with no staff on site the people I spoke with on the phone were helpful and easy to get ahold of.

SingaporeThere was nothing nearby but the city centre and eateries were about 7 mins walk away.
It's an unmanned hotel, but the instructions were clear, and check-in was easy. The room was clean and comfortable, but the bathroom was a little small, though it was very clean and functional. The best thing about this hotel is that the Flybus and our tour with Arctic Adventure could drop and pick up at the doorstep.

United StatesThe parking around the hotel is confusing for tourists. I was told by the staff to download the parking app for the city of Reykjavik, which I did use several times. What I didn't realize at the time was that I was paying $16 for 3 hours of parking. Do your research for parking near the hotel if you're renting a car because the directions hotel provided is simply not enough. The shower doors do not fully close the shower so the floors always get wet.
Central location near the main street if you don't mind 10-15 minute walk.

AustraliaThere were some things that made the stay a little less comfortable. The room code was not working when we arrived and it triggered the alarm on the floor so I needed to call the support. It would be good to at least have a whatsapp call as it costed quite some money to call the support to sort out the code. It would also be ideal to have such an important thing working from the first attempt too. Secondly, there was no spare toilet paper in the bathroom. Again, had to contact support to organise this, and got a weird feeling on why they don’t have a spare paper roll in the bathroom in the first place. Lastly, usually in other properties the third bed is setup for the guest. I understand the reason (third bed is a couch and requires separate setup), but it was more of a hostel feeling to set up your own bed in a hotel. Again, those are not major problems, although maybe AT LEAST basic information sheet in the room would save the frustration time and would reduce the need to contact support every time guests need a minor thing such as toilet paper.
Amazing newly renovated rooms, great clean bathroom, easy access.

CanadaAuto checkin, code didn’t work and had to phone to get it reset. Annoying and several others had same problem. Kettle in room and instant coffee but no teabag, many people don’t drink coffee. Steep steps to entrance, there is a ramp but no signage and it’s hard to see, only found it when I struggled to top of steps.
Room modern and clean. Lighting excellent. Small (single) but well designed and outfitted. Wet room shower. Good towels. Quiet area about a brisk 10-15 minutes from downtown Reykjavik. Very comfortable

United StatesThe ramp to the entry way is very steep. Bringing luggage up and down it while using a walking aid is extremely difficult. Anyone with major mobility issues will need assistance with that ramp. Both the hotel and the booking agent stated that breakfast was available, this does not mean it’s included. Our booking agents thought it did, our group of 9 booked there because breakfast was part of the package. It was not. Great disappointment.

United KingdomI appreciate it was a unstaffed hotel. That was OK but there was no-one to answer simple questions about places, facilities etc. A lot had to be gleaned from other guests. The one time I tried the phone contact no-one answered. I got used to it though and overall I would rate it OK.
Most things - as above, plus the restaurant facility downstairs. It wasn't cheap but it had good food, good staff and great convenience

MexicoAt the beginning we were a little lost because of the self service but at the end it was ok. The first impression when we arrive was like to arrive at a hostel.
The room was big enough and comfortable, the room was clean, it is self service, sufficient instructions to open the main entrance and your room. There was communication by chat and they answered very quickly for any question. The buffet was not included but at a good price and good, the only hot meal were broiled eggs.

IndonesiaI think there's no staff available (no reception) so you have to always have their number in case of anything.
The hotel is a very unique one where you do self checkin by entering code - at first we weren't able to access but after one phone call it was solved within less than 10 minutes! The room are nice and clean. We were here only for one night for transit and it has everything we need, including breakfast :)
