Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.

By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

IndiaNothing at all! Everything was perfect. If I am to find a fault, I would say there was some noise on the roof at night (probably a civet or a squirrel), but nothing that kept us awake. But we did wonder what the noise was for sometime. So maybe a heads up could have been useful.
I loved the aesthetics, cleanliness and service of staff at the property. The moment we walked into the property we knew the money spent was worth every penny! And Siddharth ensured we had everything we wanted and ensured all the small issues were fixed immediately upon call! Overall I would recommend the place to anybody planning to visit Varkala. PS: We were not aware of the small swimming pool at the property, so that was a bonus for us! Everything was 10/10

United Arab EmiratesNo complaints. Its all perfect!
I absolutely loved this property. It's beautiful and so thoughtfully maintained. You can clearly see the effort that goes into every detail, all curated with great taste. The hospitality here is just as impressive: the staff are warm and attentive, and the breakfast is exceptional with generous, scrumptious portions. A big thanks to Sid and his mom for creating such a wonderful place to stay in Varkala. I can't wait to visit again!

IndiaMy stay at Villa Akasa summed up to be exactly what I was looking for on my trip - peaceful, calm, quiet and serene (also a visual eye candy). Special mention to the team as well who made our trip very easy and smooth. I would visit Varkala again just to enjoy another stay at Villa Akasa 💗

IndiaThere could be some indore re creational activity.
Our stay at Villa Akasha from August was nothing short of perfect for a leisure getaway. The lush greenery and calm, soothing ambience of the property slow life down and wrap you in a sense of deep relaxation. Every corner is spotlessly clean and beautifully maintained. A special mention to Mr. Raju, the heart of the place from a smooth check-in to attending to every little need, he’s always there with a warm smile. His smile at breakfast makes your morning. Speaking of breakfast – it’s absolutely delicious, as is the rest of the food. Don’t miss it! Beyond the gorgeous flora, the property also got a well maintained clean swimming pool. And if you’re travelling solo, you’ll still have company three adorable, friendly dogs who’ll win your heart instantly. Thank you, Sid and team, for making our stay truly memorable.

IndiaHad some difficulty finding the place after nightfall and the parking was challenging.
Very quaint room in a lush green setting. A short walk away from the beach. Right across from an expansive coffee shop serving outstanding croissants and hot chocolate and with spectacular views from the cliff. Was a very good find given that it was the shortest holiday with just the night stay and a morning spent on the beach. The host was very nice and conversational.

United KingdomBefore my review I would say I strongly recommend staying here, my feedback is just to help with things that could make for a better experience. Good: - Lovely staff, very easy communication. Sid helped us so much with excursions and advice on what to do and Nakul was fantastic on site. Nakul helped us find local laundry which was a life saver! - Beautiful bathrooms semi-outdoors - Fantastic food, better than anywhere nearby. Our delicious morning coffees and idli were some of our favourite memories of this trip - Lovely grounds, with nice plant life Mixed: - The beds are not very comfortable- quite bare, especially for the price of the stay. If you have any back issues I would strongly recommend asking for a second mattress - Again for the price the accommodation is fairly simple. They are planning to do some refurbishments which I think would be worthwhile In short, this place is very special, but to me it felt like it was a bit of a halfway house between high-end and for backpackers. I think with minor tweaks I would give this a perfect 10!

IndiaAmazing experience starting at Villa Akasa, great homely feeling. The location is perfect on the south side of the cliff, barely 200m from the beach. The best part of the stay was the cozy breakfast in the balcony amongst the nature. Would definitely book again next time we are in Varkala

CanadaWe loved everything about our stay in Villa Akasa! It was the perfect place to start our trip in India. What a magical Oasis which was so comfortable and had a peaceful garden and your own private place to sit outside and enjoy a delicious breakfast. Sid was always available to chat about things, answer questions and help us organize drivers, scooter rental and had great recommendations. We felt so well taken care of and the rooms were clean and lovely. I can’t recommend staying here enough!! We hope to be back soon. ❤️

Loved the property, the gardens surrounding our room were beautiful to wake up to and enjoy breakfast in. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the outdoor shower was divine. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the home cooked meals were delicious, I highly recommend the Indian breakfast option rather than the western options, your palette will thank you! Sid was very communicative and helped us book a cab to and from the villa, the driver was so nice we hired him to take us all the way to Kochi and Munnar (ask for Ananthu’s brother Renjit). The location is excellent, with the amenities of larger hotels (cafes, staircases to the beach, yoga classes) accessible right across the street but with a quiet, more private, like-home experience. The adorable dog Sophie was a welcome bonus.

We extended our stay and got a different room, which was also super cozy. The warm atmosphere and the lovely people here made our stay really special. Breakfast was great, and the Kerala-style dinner absolutely blew us away – it felt like dining in a nice restaurant! We are very happy that we chose this place, and if we had more time, we would definitely stay longer.

AustraliaVilla Akasa was beautiful in every way. There is so much attention to detail and everywhere oozes relaxed, cozy, coastal vibes. The styling is amazing and I loved all the artwork and colour around the villa. The amazing plants all around the property make you feel automatically relaxed and we loved searching for the little turtles in the pond next to our room!! We loved the accomodation itself, ( very comfortable, very clean) but also the amazing staff onsite who were super friendly. The food is AMAZING - we loved the mushroom crepe for breakfast and the beautiful dinner which we ordered for the last night. It is easy to acsess the main town of Varkala with a rickshaw, or even walk if you don’t mind a few hills. There are also less crowded beaches nearby the accomodation within a 5 minute walk. Sid (the host/owner) is a great guy and even let us join him for a walk along the beach with his dogs which made my day!! Thank you Sid , hope to see you and the wonderful staff and your beautiful dogs at Villa Akasa one day in the future.

This place is truly amazing!! If you want to be in tune with nature, this is the place. The garden and the rooms were lovely and tastefully done. The room was comfy with enough linen. The bathroom was open air, which is pretty cool when sunlight filters through. There may be 1 or 2 occasional lizards on the wall, but they are totally harmless and a part of the natural decor. I cannot forget the service. All employees including the owner were really nice people. When we'd arrived late in the night, there was a person who went out of their way to ensure we had bottled water since we could not consume regular filtered water. The breakfast was brought to your private porch, and specially made for you with some great options. Their cook was good. We had a wonderful chat with the owner Sid, who gave us a peek into his adventurous life. He kindly had his employee get some seeds from a beautiful flowering tree within the villa garden, since my mom really wanted to grow them in BLR. He even checked in to make sure the mom was happy with the seeds. The villa is in a quiet location, so convenience stores are a short walk away. The walks feel isolated in the nights. There is a really cool cafe opposite the villa and the food is good there as well. Parking space within the villa appears limited. The roads outside are a bit narrow and the area is a bit hilly due to the cliffs nearby. The beach is very close too. Splendid place! Must stay!

BelgiumWhat a wonderful experience to stay in a beautiful room with a spacious terrace in a lush garden. Also in the bathroom you had the garden feeling. Tastefully decorated everywhere. For breakfast you had the choice of 5 options every time. Always super delicious! Also for the fresh coffee (freshly ground coffee beans!). Quality in everything. And then the friendliness that we were allowed to experience: warm contacts! This quiet place, surrounded by nature, is also very close to the beach. Yes, we enjoyed it all the way! When possible we will definitely come back!

It’s a peaceful location, very close to a quite and clean beach (quite and clean - as much as you can expect in India). The host was a great support, he helped whole day with whatever we asked for. And if he missed on small thing like ear plugs, he would remember to ask and provide it the next day. The staff was very friendly and provided all required support. Breakfast options were great. Rooms were clean, ventilated and tidy.
