There was nothing to dislike. The behaviour of the owner and the staff was excellent—always courteous and helpful. The owner, in particular, was extremely down-to-earth and consistently went out of his way to assist us. The property is ideal for families, offering a calm and peaceful environment right beside the sea. While it is located slightly away from the main city (about 8–10 km), most major attractions are within a 3 km radius. Overall, a highly recommended stay for those looking for a relaxing and family-friendly getaway.

A Warm and Memorable Stay with Great Hospitality We stayed for a few days and had a pleasant experience overall. On the first two days, breakfast consisted of bread, butter, and coffee, served after 8:30 AM — which suited our early departures. However, on the last day, we were delighted with a homemade breakfast of Appam and curry. It was light, smooth, and delicious — a true taste of local hospitality. The room was slightly small for three people, but the ambiance was cozy and comfortable. Transportation was conveniently arranged from the hotel itself, and they offered excellent facilities for outstation tours. We went on a backwater tour, located about 1.5 hours from the property, which was completely organized by the property at a very reasonable cost. A special mention to Mr. Sunil Kumar (our guide) and his family, who served us an incredible lunch near the backwaters. It was included in the tour package, but the warmth and generosity they showed made it feel like much more than just a meal — it was truly full of love. A heartfelt thank you to everyone involved for making our stay so memorable.

1) breakfast has a very limited option and taste I didn't personally enjoy that much tea and coffee was good 2) Narrow the path leading to property so the guests have to do all the luggage pulling. They should arrange at least one person to assist with the luggage

Amazing location , the staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was quite large and spacious, you can book local entertainment and excursions through the property (kathakali and the backwater tour are recommend!) They offer an affordable laundry service, and the breakfast was nice every morning. We paid for lunch and dinner one of the days and they were very tasty! Fort kochi is a short auto ride away, which you can book via uber (cash only) We felt very safe at sea hut overall and in kochi in general. One thing I will say that would put this at 100% for me would be a fridge/communal fridge to keep our drinks cool! Haha

These are only personal preference: the lighting in the room was quite austere and it would have been nice to have a top sheet for the bed.

It was easy to travel from the homestay via auto rickshaw or taxi to Fort Kochi, the backwaters, the train station and airport. The garden was very relaxing and peaceful. The communal areas were well maintained. The hosts were very helpful and were able to arrange excursions and transport easily.

Note that the parking is not there for 4 wheelers and you can park the vehicle on the roadside. Room is adequate for 2 people. Not advised for families. They have only two rooms which can accomodate large group.

It is value for money. Stay was comfortable. Hosts were helpful and flexible with our requests. Place is next to see and we can sit on the rocks enjoying the view of the sea. Note that it is not sand beach. It is 50 metre walk from the main road.

We enjoyed breakfast of omlette, toast and fruit, but it would have been great to have some traditional Keralan dish too.

The team at Seahut homestay made us very welcome, helping us with whatever we needed. We really liked the location - just outside the busyness of Fort Kochin and with a great view of the beach from the Superior Double or Twin Room with Sea View, where my sister was staying. We spent a lot of time on her balcony watching the sunset. The hammocks in the garden area were also a great place to relax. It was always very easy to get a tuktuk to Fort Cochin for food and exploring (less than 10 minutes journey and around 60rs when on the meter and 100-150 when not). It was always lovely to come back this friendly, quiet home near the beach. Would definitely recommend, especially the room with the Sea View!
