My recent stay at Santa Maria was absolutely wonderful. The highlight of the experience was the incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Their warm hospitality made me feel right at home, and they were always willing to assist with anything I needed. The property itself is ideally located, just a stone’s throw from the beach, making it perfect for a relaxing getaway. The rooms were clean, and well-maintained, offering a comfortable and peaceful stay. I also loved the complimentary breakfast—it was a great way to start the day with delicious and fresh options. The overall ambiance of the property, combined with the attentive service, made my stay truly memorable.

this place is a lease. Meaning it is not the owner of the building that run the hostel. The booking management is not done in the hostel but in another town by the leaser guy, NOT PROFESSIONALY. SO OVERBOOKING HAPPEND. THEN EVEN GUEST WHO IS THERE FOR MANY DAYS IS ASKED TO LEAVE. ALSO THERE IS CONSTRUCTION WORK GOING ON TO INCREASE THE NR OF ROOMS.

The beds were a little hard, but the hostel was still great.

The free breakfast in the morning was very enjoyable, the location of the hostel was brilliant and there was a great restaurant nearby called the white house the food was cheap and amazing. The staff at the hostel were very attentive and professional.

The builders! The hostel is still being built, the builders work 7 days a week, start loudly at 8 am ish, and everything is covered in cement, dust, dirt and stones. There is also a building site directly opposite that can be even noisier. I would stay here again in a few years once everything is built but wish I had known how bad it was at the minute as, despite the lovely staff, i would have chosen elsewhere, there is tons of choice in Kovolam.

Location. Kovalam doesn't have any other hostels and Kerala has very few hostels of good quality.

To say good bye. Want to stay at least for one week again.

Stay amid the lash greenary of the adjacent garden, big airy neatly clean room with attached toilet. Comfy beds with clean lilen and blanket. Warm welcome by the staff . The manager was very supportive, sensible, humble and caring person. Service was top-notch. Location is non reachable by car, have to walk for a few minutes. Had a great experience to reach there by 400 miter walk within the lush green natural vegetation. The manager himself carried our luggage from the main road with a trolley.. Light House beach and Hawoa beach is 2 minutes walk from here . Provided free breakfast with delicious mouth watering traditional Kerala dish. Arranged cars for our next destination. Joined my "Go Green" program by allowing me to plant my 1002nd and 1003rd plant in the garden. My cordial thanks for this noble gesture. Very nice place for a vacation, strongly recommend.

Shared kitchen will get enhanced by (its missed) refridgerator soon. Roof terrace will become used for breakfast after decorations and cleaning soon. Toilet paper will become stored soon.

Its a startup hostel that started in 2024, and its still on ramp up and during improovement mode. Only 50 meters from beach and beach walk, but its a quite area wich allows you to get easy into sleep. Beds, mattress, bed sheets and towels and rooms were clean and easy but good equipped. Toilet was clean and well maintained. Every day 1 bottle of water offered for free. Manager is polite, communication straight and correct, and he tries his best, to improove and to regard all positive advices and wishes of his guests. So good luck for its first season 2024 / 2025.

The owners were very very nice! Both are so kind and friendly, they helped us with all our requests (including special breakfast!). We also had the best biriani for dinner. It's also possible to rent scooties.

Yes, it's a new property. The guys are still finishing and trying to make it comfortable. The hostel is located just one step from the beach and cafes. The staff is very friendly.Everything is nearby here. If you are a backpacker, go for it, you'll like it.

There is still a lot of maintenance that has to be done for the facilities, but that’s why the price per night was a bit lower.

Although the hostel just opened 1 week ago and I was the only guest during my stay, I had a nice time! I felt very welcome and I loved the breakfast. I think it’s going to be a nice hostel for backpackers :)

Excellent place for a perfect weekend relaxing moment. Just near to the beach and excellent vibe and happiness. Especially Mr. Diljith, the manager is such a good personality and helped me in all my inhouse needs and explaining about the must visit places and things to do in Kovalam beach. Highly recommended!!
