Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Didn't have the best view on that room
Friendly helpful staff. Kept my bags and let me sort of my things on a very stressful day. Had trouble trying to find a working travel agent Large comfortable room, very clean and great bathroom. Great location too.

Unfortunately our room wasn't available for the first night of our 5 night stay. The manager, however, made arrangements for us to stay at another homestay which was very close by.
Nice little homestay hotel in the heart of the main tourist area of Fort Kochi, and close to restaurants and shops. Staff were helpful. Breakfast isn't provided but there are many cafes nearby to cover this.

Room and bathroom could use a few clothes hooks. Also could use a filter water station in common area instead of asking staff.
Great location, quiet, spacious and comfortable, and very reasonable. There are lots of options for eating on the same street. Highly recommended is the teapot.

Great location to walk everywhere. Perfect for the single traveller. Very helpful staff. Excellent driver Kannan, reliable and safe. Speaks good English with good recommendations of places to visit.

Really nice rooms with good functioning AC. Friendly and attentive service. Perfect location if you want to stay in Fort Cochi. They also helped us book taxis with short notice. Recommended.

This guest house is so charming that many people come around to pose for pictures in front of the home. Sitting on the balcony with morning coffee can make you feel as if you are on a movie set :)
This is a 200-year old renovated Dutch home that has been converted into a guest house although each room has its own bathroom. The front of the house looks just like the picture. I had one of the upper-rooms with a balcony that was covered in ivy. It is like living in a storybook. This room did not cost extra. I simply booked in advance and requested one of the rooms with a balcony. The staff are very helpful and it is in an ideal location - quiet neighborhood near a vibrant commercial district. This Guest House also owns a really popular restaurant that exhibits local art. I regret that I only visited the restaurant on the day before my departure, as it has great ambiance and an interesting menu. Check it out !

Unfortunately, the bathroom was not clean. The windows (which had cobwebs!) and the giasss shower dividing panel need a good scrubbing!

One of our rooms had gaps around the doors to airshft, mosquitoes were an issue. Also , would be nice to have kettle in room for tea/coffee making. (Awesome young man on front desk gave me the only kettle he had…I needed it to make a medicine I take).

everything was ok. You need to ask for soap, toilet paper, additional towels, for at arrival there weren't, but the staff kindly provided everything on request. this is a bit strange, but it was not a real problem
the room is beautiful, large and clean, silent. bathroom is ok, hot water always available. the bed is comfortable. Loved to stay there. Staff is very kind. position is very good. high value for money

Since raintree lodge doesn't offer breakfast, it would be nice to have a waterboiler in the room to make some coffe/tea.

Room 5 (our original room) was amazing - spacious, subtle, private, cosy, with a large bathroom. We chose to extend our stay at the property and had to move to room 3 (in fairness the owner did accommodate us last minute) but room 3 was dismal. Bathroom was a mosquito filled sauna with no fan, AC was unpleasantly loud, and the light and noise from the street was really annoying (there are for some strange reason, people taking photos out the front of the place constantly). Moral of the story: book your stay in Room 5!
Perfect location, in a much quieter area of the old quarter, beautiful aesthetic.

You couldn’t really adjust the air conditioning and bathroom facilities were a bit old and rusty.
I liked the proximity to downtown Fort Cochin and the nice staff. It was also clean
