Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

New ZealandWifi was a little slow at times
The heritage aspect of the property was the reason we booked it and it didn't disappoint. It was like stepping back in time, each room is unique and it has a lovely pool area. Staff were very helpful and gave excellent service. If you want to be in the heart of Fort kochi then this is the place to stay.

United KingdomThe pool could have opened a little earlier (say 7am) for people who like a morning swim. It also looks very different to the pool on the photos. I was quite taken by the chequered floor of the pool when looking online, but that wasn’t how the pool looked when we arrived - really not a big deal, but just to flag!
We had two lovely nights in Fort Kochi staying in this hotel. The hotel had a lot of character and was perfectly located for sites we wanted to see and places we wanted to visit. We really liked our room with its high ceilings and ample space. It was unlike any other hotel we’ve stayed in. The breakfast was good and the coffee was actually strong, which we’ve not found to be the case during our trip around India. I’d highly recommend

FinlandThe first room that we were given was on the ground floor and did not meet our expectations. However, the staff was very attentive and immediately changed our room to a first floor one with a view to the park in front. The room was nicely furnished and the bathroom was modern and impeccably clean, with a big shower. The swimming pool area in the garden looked a bit worn, but the pool itself was very clean, and it was beautiful to be able to swim after a hot day. Also, we were able to use the pool area after our checkout, as our flight was only late at night. Breakfast was very good and there were lots of different Indian and western options.

Massive period room (huge bedroom with four poster bed, separate dressing room and large bathroom with good shower) Nice relaxing swimming pool which was great after busy days in the heat. Perfect position in central Kochi but still very quiet. Nice breakfast.

SwedenOur room on the ground floor (’Albaquerque’) was huge, 50+ m2, but the aircon was incapable, the concrete floor was losing paint and was not fully clean, the bathroom was new but had no full walls to the rest of the room so every sound from there was heard all over. A historic building can have variations per room, but this was a bit too far from the pictures of the ’Heritage splendor’ room category on booking.com. The area around the pool was not fully clean mainly due to plenty of birds in nearby trees. The place gave a slightly faded impression despite many positives too.
Great location Great staff Breakfast: excellent dosas and eggs cooked to order Heritage building Swimming pool and lush garden.

United KingdomThe appearance of the rewtaurant was quite dated and lacked atmosphere, we ate outside.
Fab location. Lovely pool which was a great place of relaxation after seeing the sights of Cochin. Such a grand , authentic historical building. Small and intimate and the best thing was the personal service from the staff in particular Shabana, the day manager and Shiv (who was always there) the most helpful waiter. Rooms are huge.

AustriaShould provide more mosquito nets at main door and in room. Front desk staff often absent and we needed to look for them; also, keys are kept at front desk when you leave the building, anybody could take your key if there’s no staff at the desk.

GuernseyIt might have been my taste buds but the teas in the room tasted musty.
After three weeks riding around India this offered us the perfect oasis right by our favourite bars and restaurants. The pool was amazing, the breakfast delicious and the staff were lovely. We could park our motorbikes in their entrance off the road. Charming hotel.

United StatesFirst floor rooms had musty smell. Upstairs rooms were fantastic! Food was good but not outstanding, although it is convenient to be able to order food all day poolside.
Wonderful hotel. We booked this for part of a family vacation- beautiful old mansion, really feels like a home as opposed to a hotel. We loved playing cards in the various rooms, has such historical charm. The pool is wonderful. Location is great- right by the square and also right by the major shopping street Princess Street. Food was good, the next door hotel Old Harbour Hotel restaurant was fantastic, so we ate there a lot for dinners. I prefer Tower House as where to stay though- Old Harbour is less charming and felt more like a hotel. Highly recommend!

PortugalThis is not a criticism of the hotel, but there were quite a few stray dogs outside who made a lot of noise in the early hours of the morning, which often made it difficult to sleep. Some double glazing may help with this.
I am a fan of Neemrana Hotels and this one did not disappoint me. The room was comfortable and the staff were attentive. The location was a little noisy because of the Christmas activities but it was a perfect location from which to explore Kochi.

IndiaNeemrana's Tower House is a little gem in the very heart of Fort Kochi, right opposite the Chinese fishing nets which are quintessentially Kochi. With loads of character, period charm, it is warmly intimate, immaculately clean and very tastefully furnished with minute attention to detail. The staff headed by a very hands-on manager are always there to take care of you; the front desk staff are exceptionally helpful ; the kitchen staff are always willing to customize the food to your taste. Would love to enjoy the warm hospitality again.

A place where you can feel like a princess. I stayed there during the Onam season. The hotel was in the center and easy to get around. It was very quiet even though there were many foreigners staying there. The interior was wonderful and I was able to take many photos. The staff were very friendly and I felt at ease.
