How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Small room with very limited garden view. Advised to not have breakfast and dinner in garden due to insects.
Great location if you prefer to stay in a silent part of the Fort Kochi. Breakfast fine. Service great. Could pay by card.

No tea and coffee in room and bathroom could do with a refresh( minor things ).
Beautiful property and we had a very comfortable stay. We had a lower floor room with seating on a patio outside. The room was spacious and very clean and we had the hottest water we had in any of the homesteads we used. The bathroom was a little tired and could do with a refresh. We visited on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday and as a result there were no evening meals provided as advertised. Also the rooms are advertised having tea and coffee facilities which they didn't however if staff were available they would gladly make tea and coffee. The property is in easy walking distance of the major sights of fort kochi.

Nothing really though a mosquito net would be a welcome addition, as a few do sneak in through the door to the garden however careful you are.

Beautiful accomodation set in its own garden. Staff friendly and helpful. We had breakfast and dinner here which were both lovely. Walking distance to shops and restaurants.

Really lovely stay at Mother’s Inn, the beds are comfortable, clean, really central location and a very nice receptionist who helped us out a lot.

Absolutely delicious stay. Except for a minor check in communication issue the host went above and beyond, making sure that i always felt taken care of. The staff is super kind and my lunch amd breakfast was wonderful. Location is also great.

The bunkbeds are average and not as clean

Absolutely fabulous! This has to be one of the best, if not the best, hostel that I stayed in during my travels around S. India. The property is in a delightful setting that's quiet and secluded. The accommodation was excellent - spotlessly clean, spacious rooms with very comfy beds. The staff were all amazing - very helpful. Book it now before it's too late!

The staff was very cordial. The perfect home stay for your time near Kochi. The dormitories were clean and comfortable. The ambience is great and the food is the best homely food one can get!

Everything, we came back for 1 more night before flying to Goa. The staff laid on a anniversary meal for us and it was probably the best table of food we have ever eaten in India. Absolutely lovely fish and prawns immaculately presented with all the side dishes. They put so much love and attention into making you happy and comfortable. We would love to stay here again.

The property is very well located, in the heart of fort kochi ! It’s very quiet, because it s completely inside a residence alley. Very beautiful garden with wild peacocks 🦚 really amazing ! The hist est very kind and the food is very tasty ! I definitely recommend it

It was a calming oasis away from the hustle and bustle. Staff were so friendly and helpful and always on hand with help and advice. We will be back next week for one more night. We would highly recommend this property.

The staff were perfectly nice but could have been a bit more helpful in providing information about the stay (e.g. what time is breakfast) and the local area.
Value for money, nice gardens although we didn't have enough time to enjoy them. Reasonably located given it's in Fort, although next time would probably stay a bit closer to the action. The breakfast was nice and the lady serving was lovely, think she may have been the owner but not sure.

The room is lovely with a green, green garden view and a super comfortable bed. Lots of seating indoor and outdoor. It’s very quiet, tranquil, peaceful. The staff is very warm and genuinly kind…so very helpful. This was my first stop in India and I needed to rest after a long journey. This was the perfect place to do so.
