How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It’s a really value for money hotel. Close to the beach. Nearby hotels are so expensive and rooms are just average. I really recommend this hotel

I love this place. 10* It is a really low price with a large balcony with chairs, a table and fan, plus a fan inside the room and on the balcony. There is a comfoy chair for sitting inside the room. A wardrobe with hangers is in the room. AC rooms are also available. There is a fridge , I brought my own travel kettle, which is useful. The water is hot. Power sockets 3 Bedside lamps and all lights and fan switches by the bed. The mattress is very comfortable. Towel and over sheets are provided in a cotton fabric. Mosquito net is on the window, and the security grills are solid. The Internet is very strong. Digital nomads needing to work will be able to do so. Drinking water is provided. There is a lovely garden. The beach is 100 metres away. Very near temples and lighthouse a small walk. Conveniently next to supermarkets, small cafes and ATM's are just a small walk. There are a lot of walk ways around they are easy enough to walk, it is necessary due to the beautiful Kerela terrain. Use a torch. I fully recommend this place and will return in the future. Thanks for the kindness and professionalism of the management and staff who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable.

Absolutely liked everything about this hotel.The rooms were clean and very comfortable, with elegant decor.They went over and beyond to help make my stay enjoyable.The staff was amiable and consistently made sure I was comfortable. I will stay there when I come back!!!

The staff at Moon Valley Cottage were so kind and gave us recommendations on where to eat and explore in Kovalam beach. The room was extremely spacious with a nice relaxing balcony. The property is in such a good location as it is only a 2 minute was to the beach and is in a super quiet and peaceful spot.

I had an amazing stay at Moon Valley Cottage! It’s incredible value for money, offering comfort and charm at an affordable rate. Lovely homestay, highly recommend. The staff were really nice and very helpful. Very close to the beach and great restaurants. The room was very comfortable and big, the bathroom is also big with a good shower.

Hot water was not available. This is the only drawback. All other facilities are good.
Kovalam beach is just 5 minutes walking from hotel. This is main advantage. Room was clean and neat. Staff are very co-operative. We enjoy our stay in hotel and definitely recommend this hotel to others.

It was all good
We loved our stay here! We travelled across 5 places in Kerela and here was definitely the most comfortable. The rooms were big and spacious, the beds were large and comfortable, the balcony was great and so was the mini fridge and the air conditioning (worked really well!). They accommodated to last minute changes and were helpful and booked airport taxis for us.

Could be a touch cleaner, but I was happy with it.
Perfect local hotel by the beach. VERY Close to beach! lovely 1 minute walk through palms. Quaint walkways around, lovely staff. They offered a coffee each morning. Perfect for my stay, and they helped with arrival / departure with taxis. Very well-priced.

The host and staff were lovely. They provided complimentary tea and coffee to the room on a morning. Hotel is in a quiet area. Slept well. Nearby food places that the host recommended that are cheap to eat at.

If you choose a non-AC room it can be quite warm, but that was expected.
The location is perfect, in a pollution protected zone with no cars, so very calm and tranquil. Only 100m from the beachfront with restaurants and shops. The reception was superb, we were helped with everything, from food recommendations to booking train tickets.
