How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It was very cold and air- conditioner did not have enough power to make the room warm. Thou we were traveling in winter, in summer season it would not be a problem.
The hotel is situated in the good location. The room service was fantastic and was there any time we needed. The room was clean, there were all the necessities. The owner offers a rickshaw tours and airport pick up for a reasonable price. The food was great (veg).

It is not central, but the benefit is that it is quiet and away from very touristy areas.
A nice, family run hotel with very hospitable and helpful staff. They helped organise my stay as I had no plans whey I arrived. Rooms were also comfortable with electric blanket and heater provided. I enjoyed my time and would definitely return.

no heater (only electric blanket) far from the city Center.
Hubble and helping staff. clean and beautiful property. delicious in house buffet (separate charges). electric kettle in the room. hot water availability. booked my sightseeing by arranging the driver and booking the shikara.

Everything was perfect . I sent a personal request for airport transfers because my flight was late evening and after boarding the flight it was delayed for 2 hours but the driver arranged through the hotel was waiting for us. After reaching the hotel they arranged food for us at 11:45 pm because our flight was delayed. And our team extended a few more nights and did the package trip through them which was one of the most memorable trips to us. They arranged a special pass for some off destinations that were amazing. The staff and food was according to our taste.

Wonderful Experience
recently had the opportunity to stay at The Shelter Heritage, and it was an absolutely wonderful experience. The property perfectly blends comfort, heritage, and warm hospitality, making it a memorable choice for travelers. Like to rate above 10 because staff trying as much as they help you out. For meals and transportation arrangement was great. I booked 1 night and ended up for 4 nights because of staff.

No hope for such staff who is ready to fight with guests for nothing.
If you ask for egg omlete the staff first gets permission from manager and good totally unhygienic.

No lift but it was OK.
The host were very accommodating. Helpful and gave good tips to our trip. Very friendly. Enjoyed the heated beds and hot water.

Even though the outside road of the hotel looks run down, the hospitality beats it all. Room has heated facilities, bathroom has water heater for shower n wash basin. clean. bed has heater for comfortable sleep. Meals r like home made. not too much variety but good comfort food. the manage to keep it warm for us. they also call us to say when meal time is ready. Good staffs n owner. Basic necessities met for the price of the hotel.
