Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

ItalyRoy is an excellent host, and was very helpful all throughout our stay. The accomodation is in an unbeatable location, right at the heart of Fort Cochin. The room was very spacious and there a lot of communal areas to make use of, like the lovely terrace.

IndiaNeed to bring your own toiletries and hand soap.
Staying here is like staying at your grandparent's house. Mr. Roy is well connected and he can help arrange whatever you need. His recommendations are spot on. The location can't be beat. 5 min walk to Chinese fishing nets and main sites, really nice grocery shop around the corner, spacious children's park across the street. Room and bathroom was clean and very spacious and opened to a living area with fridge. Dutch-built historical family house that in itself is interesting to tour.

SwitzerlandThis homestay is perfectly located in the heart of Fort Kochi, just a short walk from cafes, restaurants, sights, and shops. Roy, the owner, is an exceptional host—warm, welcoming, and always ready with great tips to make your stay even better. From the moment you arrive, you feel right at home. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting Fort Kochi! Thank you, Roy, for a wonderful stay!

New ZealandNothing it’s perfect.
Beautiful heritage home with a great feel and lovely spaces to relax outside of your actual room. The location couldn’t be better if you want to explore Fort Kochi on foot or by tuk tuk. Minutes walk from great restaurants, boutiques and the coastal path that’s lovely to wander at sunset. My room was spacious with a pretty window looking over the street and the shower was the best pressure I’ve had in India. Roy and his team are lovely kind people that even got up at 3am to see me into my airport taxi. Loved staying there, felt very cosy and for a solo traveller as if with family

DenmarkI thoroughly enjoyed staying at Leelu's Homestay! Roy is an excellent host -- warm, helpful, informative -- and the location cannot be beat. The premises are clean and comfortable, albeit on the small side if you are staying three persons in one room. On the positive side, there is a cozy living room, so you are not restricted to the room outside of sleeping hours. I'd highly recommend staying here.

AustriaDo note it can be noisy if you come during festivals (eg Cochin Carnival) because of proximity to events.
Proprietor Mr Roy Simon is very friendly, helpful and caring. Ready to assist with issues, has great tips for Fort Cochin and provide advice on onward travel in Kerala. It felt like staying with family! The home stay was very clean and the staff were great. Couldn’t ask for a better location on a central but quiet street.

United KingdomOur stay at Leelu Homestay was fantastic. Roy is an incredible host - he is so informative, helpful, friendly and welcoming that it felt like we were staying with family and not a stranger. He took us to buy fresh seafood from the fish market and to a local restaurant to have it cooked how we like and he organised trips for us to see kathakali, go kayaking and more. His home is a beautiful old 3 storey building (plus a rooftop garden) right in the heart of Fort Kochi - a few steps away from amazing cafes and restaurants. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The breakfasts were always delicious. We’ve been travelling for months now and this accommodation is the most homely we’ve felt the whole trip. Highly recommend booking a room here.
