We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.

RomaniaThe type of accomodation, being on a boat and the location somewhere in the Dal lake far from city noise. The boat ride to place it takes you thru the nice Dal lake landscape that is so peaceful. Faizan and the rest of the stuff were sociable and very helpful and knowledgeable. I fully recommend then for finding more about the aria and what can be done around.

IndiaI had booked Wildrose house boat for a day but ended up extending my stay for a week. This is an ideal place where you can reset your mind , body and feel rejuvenated. Early morning view . Slice of nature peeping at you from the window is what I will miss the most. The family is so welcoming and especially Faizan who even chalked out a weeks itenary with the best places in and around that could be seen. The visit to local places and the mountains was a surreal experience. The food was excellent and I can vouch for it. They even customize it to suit your taste buds. The local tea is something I fell in love with. All in all it was a very memorable stay..I wish I could stay more. I can only request one and all to not go by what is put out there in the media. Kashmir is a beautiful place with even more beautiful people at its core. It is absolutely safe heaven. I will ever be so grateful to the family for making my stay in the boat house a never to forget experience. I will be back soon and that I am sure of. 🙏

IndiaOnly trivial things: the washroom can have more fittings. Ask the owner to replace the towels with freshly washed ones when you arrive. But these trivial things do not affect your overall experience.
I travelled with my wife and two daughters. We had taken a ride in Dal Lake in our previous visits to Srinagar. This time we decided to stay in the Lake. The location of houseboat is very important depending on your taste. If you like a tranquil and serene place away from the main road or far from the crowds, this houseboat meets that requirement. Needless to add, the houseboat is made of wood. So, you will find wooden floor, walls, beds, and anything you see. Walking on the floor will produce that wooden feeling. The size of the rooms is adequate given the size of the houseboat. It has a living room, dining, bedroom and second bedroom with attached washroom in both the bedrooms. The room has large size bed for two persons. Accommodating a third in a room will be a little tough. You are in the company of nature with birds playing in water and perched on the wooden logs looking above the surface of water, extremely peaceful. The place is safe. The caretaker was very courteous. The meals were simply awesome and sumptuous. We loved the food and the way it was served. The dining place had a unique presentation of cutlery and dining seating. You have to tell them in advance what you would prefer in breakfast or lunch and dinner. We ordered Indian food, so I have no idea of food ordered by foreign tourists. The owners were very helpful in sharing information and arranging travel within and outside the Lake. Be mindful of taking essentials like your regular medicines with you as you will have to come to shops outside the lake if you need to buy something, just in case. No swimming if you feel like doing it. Keep your belongings away from water like the mobile or glasses or handbags. My spectacles fell in water. We moved on to Pahalgam in our trip. To my disbelief, Mr. Faizan retrieved and handed over to me on my way to the airport. Special thanks to Mr. Faizan and his younger brother! Our stay in the houseboat is memorable!

What a wonderful stay. My wife and I spent 4 nights on this peaceful and comfortable houseboat and had the best time. The thing you will notice quite quickly is how hospitable everyone is on the houseboat. Ibrahim and his family have created a lovely space to feel relaxed and comfortable, whilst always there to give you advice on your time in Kashmir. Faizan, Sultan and Amin were great during our time, each one happy to help and so friendly! We spent Eid with the family and it was such a special part of our trip. They helped us rearrange our trip with recommendations for other places in Kashmir to see, and we did not regret it!!! When we are next in Kashmir, there is no doubt as to where we will stay! If you want the experience of a houseboat, with wonderful owners and staff, away from the hustle and bustle of the ghaat, then this is the place for you! Thank you so much for making our first time in Kashmir so special :)

RomaniaWe had a great time at the house boat. We booked the place for only 2 nights with no plans at all. Ibrahim and Faizan sorted everything for us. We did a guided one day trek at Naranag. They helped us with the appropriate equipment and food for this. On the second day, they also organized a short tour of the mosques in Srinagar and a boat ride on Dal lake, just before our flight out. We also had dinner with the family after the trek, which was a nice experience.

Absolutely incredible experience!!! I couldn’t say enough about it! Picked up from the airport and taken across the lake to a warm little boat right on the lake! Incredible view and very quaint and quiet! The family was so nice and the food they made was fantastic. They showed me around the city, took an unforgettable 4 day trek in the Himalayas where we camped went fishing and ate like kings. I will definitely be returning for a longer stay and trek in the future. After all this they setup my bike rental to ride the leh circuit! The host treats you like family and I couldn’t have enjoyed this trip more! Best stay at wild Rose

Our time in the Houseboat Wild Rose was a wonderful experience full of nice moments with our lovely Host-Family, great food from Kashmere and if course the beautiful nature of Dal Lake with all it's Eagles, Kingfishers (the bird ;D), Lotusplants and many more! Our Highlight was a 7 day Trekkingtour in the Himalaya with Faizan (our Host Jr.) where we saw not just some amazing mountains but also the life of the local people there. We really enjoyed our time here and hopefully come back one Day. Thank you Ibrahim and your Family!

We enjoyed our stay at the Wild Rose very much! The people are very friendly and kind. They showed us many nice places in Srinagar and took us out for nice boat tour around the Dal Lake. They also organised a 4-day trek for us which was amazing! The landscape has many breathtaking spots! Additionally, we learnt a lot about the culture during the many pleasant conversations with the family members. The atmosphere is very calm and quiet and they always made sure that we had everything we wanted. We are very grateful to the host and can truly recommend the place! We will definitely come back to this place and plan an even longer trekking tour.

United KingdomParts of the houseboat are tad dated, but that is what adds to the charm really. So nothing super negative. The evening and early morning prayer took a bit of getting used to, but after the 1st night they were quite melodic and made the experience unique in India.
The stay was exceptional and we were treated so well, we were collected by drivers and had a shakara/gondola waiting. Most NB was the food - always home made, and after a grueling week of dehli belly before arriving, it was super refreshing. Ibrahim and Fazan are amazing, they will put you in touch with any activities you need and host you like family. They can arrange a day hike or a full-on trek for multiple days in the Kashmiri hills. They also provide tons of choice when it comes to food which is lovely. The family had a great sense of humour and whenever we had a chat there were laughs involved. The houseboat has rustic charm to it. It’s further from the hustle and bustle so you get to truly relax. We also did tons of yoga on the decking, in the open outdoors, with sun cover from the awning. A special place and made to feel very welcome as a foreign tourist, houseboat wild rose is run by a family you can truly trust. We're definitely booking in for hiking next time, cannot miss!

I have had a lovely time at Wild Rose House Boat. Ibrahim is very kind and Amin the house keeper is very attentive. The trek I went on was very fun and if it wasn't for Ibrahim I wouldn't have gone to the Himalayas and got to experience life in Naranag. The Faizan was an incredible guide and I will never forget him. The food has been incredible and as a vegetarian I have felt truly catered for. Well, personally I think I scored big time by setting foot aboard the Houseboat Wild Rose, beautifully situated on the lake Dal in Srinagar, Kashmir. I had the pleasure of my own guide and chaperone as company while visiting the stunning shrines and mosques of the old town of Dal lake with the host, Ibrahim. A warm and kind hearted man with a beautiful attitude and outlook on life - and a picturesque home with which to host travellers looking for an authentic introduction to the wonderful world that is Kashmir. I enjoyed the delight of having delicious authentic home cooked meals, which have broadened my tastebuds no end, and whose flavours I will remember and likely attempt to replicate - to the degree that I am able - in sha Allah. An abundance of Kashmiri tea, served by the always attentive Amin, who appeared to always be working to maintain the comfort of the houseboat and keep the guests happy. And I am so happy I also chose to go on a week long trek through the Himalayas with Faizan, Ibrahim's son, as guide - and entertainer - a young man overflowing with smiles and laughter and possessing an infectious good humour (and also a worthy opponent in chess. In fact a joy to play in any kind of game, and often the instigator of any number of new ones :D). I got to see some stunning scenery, share in some wild stories, and get a real insight into the heart of the people of Kashmir and what makes this place so unique and beautiful. I feel really lucky for the experience, and for the companions with whom I shared my time here. I can wholeheartedly recommend the window into Kashmir that the Houseboat Wild Rose offers. There is a lot to experience here and a lot of love coming from these people who have hosted me and befriended me. I am supremely grateful for my stay here and will cherish the memories, at least until I return. Until then I wish the very best to all the crew on the Houseboat Wild Rose, and to all who decide to stay here. Good choice!

We went in the winter and it was so cosy with the woodburner in the living room and plenty of hot water for baths. Big shout out to Amin who looked after us and anticipated our every want!
