Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaI wouldnt stay if the place is booked for other Indian customers. Prefer stayn with foreigners. Kitchen requires filter connection to tap where kitchen sink is, bedroom needs to be ventilated before customer arrives (leave windows open, write and keep wifi details in the bedroom, instructions how to on the hot water geyser, security guard should also be working night shift, kitchen draws dirty (place newspaper in draws and keep cutlery), good lounge cushions needed, not sure if its bar fridge or freezer in room. All the food i kept in bar fridge became hard like ice. Needs fridge NOT freezer in bedrooms. Indian customers staying there too loud and noisy and young men half naked. I will make sure if I have to stay next time, there aint Indians staying when I am staying at Hannu Reddy.
Friendly Staff very helpful, reasonably clean place compared to others I think, very quiet area, great location, great fresh breakfast served

IndiaCould’ve been cleaner. Found a cockroach in the bathroom on two occasions. But the staff immediately took care of it. It’s not like your normal hotel. It was much more homely and I would insist anyone else travelling here to not let this one incident hamper their plans to book this place. Definitely do stay here. I too would be recommending it to my friends. Only reason I mentioned it is so that the owner can work on it and get many many more bookings. I wouldn’t even call it a complaint, just a little constructive criticism.
Rooms were spacious and the staff was very polite and accommodating. Food was lovely although it used to take 1.5hrs after ordering for the room service so order well in advance.

IndiaThe GPS location tends to give the impression that the property is on Wallace road , tends to be confusing for cab drivers to pickup/drop.
The breakfast was simple , authentic and very flavourful. Large spacious room with a clean bathroom & attached dining room !

United Arab Emiratesa) While rooms are large, spacious and neat, the bedsheets and towels provided can be cleaner - few had minor stains - we would like to see squeeky clean towels and beds b) The pictures provided in the booking.com site are probably a mix of pictures from their different branches. The nungambakkam branch seems a smaller setup where outdoor space is very limited. You largely have to stick to your room. c) For those looking for a spread during breakfast as in hotels, here food is served at two tables - so we were wondering what we are going to get - but thankfully it turned out to be tasty. d) Lunch and Dinner is not available - however orders can be placed. we didnt notice any veg restaurant within 5 mts walk - there are some options nearby but at a distance of say 5mts by auto or 15/20 mts by walk. e) The downside compared to a hotel will be things like business centre, gym, pool etc which is not available in the villa setup. there is no place within the villa for a morning walk so you will have to step out to the road - which we may not be comfortable in a new place.
This was our first time at Hanu Reddy Residence. We had requested for a 1 night stay - however due to last minute changes, we arrived one day early. Spoke to booking.com and the Hanu reddy manager and they helped to change the booking to the previous day. Moreover, we had arrived few hours earlier to checkin time, but since the room was ready , they allowed us to checkin couple of hours earlier. The location is in a quiet locality in nungambakkam and seems safe. The room was very spacious and kept neatly. For breakfast we had requested Jain Food (without onion and garlic) and they provided the same. We were served piping hot sambar and chutney with steamed IDlis, Dalfry with Poori, Fruits etc. Dosa was also available on request. Breakfast was yummy and nicely prepared in the small kitchen that is part of the villa which has 4 to 5 rooms. The caretakers Biplav and Manoranjan are helpful. The security guard Siva is also a very warm person. Evening, i seemed a bit unwell, on request, the caretakers were very kind enough to get a small strip of paracetamol within 1/2 hour. Overall, its like a warm home and not a regular hotel vibe . If your purpose of visit is located in the vicinity, this place can definitely serve the purpose.

SingaporeNothing really.
This is my second time staying at Hanu (Habibullah Road), and I will definitely prefer to stay there going forward. The location is very prime. Breakfast was average by choice but tasted good. Biplap, the caretaker was a real star and was very helpful throughout our stay. Same goes to Manoranjan the cook and the security uncle Sivalingam. Overall it was a pleasant and homely place to stay.

NetherlandsWater took a bit to warm up for the showers.
The staff were super helpful as we had an over-night train into the city. They were able to check us in at about 5 am. Additionally, the rooms were very clean with good facilities such as air conditioning. The place was also located in a more "international" area with a lot of different options for food within walking distance.

CanadaThe managers (especially the brothers from Odisha) are totally ignorant about Indian laws. They were insisting that I should pay GST. As I don't want to waste your time, let me be short and sweet. Foreigners need not pay GST. You should make an EXPORT invoice in a foreign currency. The EXPORT invoice will not have GST. As foreigners pay thro' credit card, paying the invoice amount in a foreign currency is not relevant to them. GST collected by you has to be paid to the Govt. of India. If you don't collect GST, you don't need to pay to the Govt of India. GST is not your revenue. This basic knowledge is missing in your managers. They are just stupid. The guy in Wallace gardens is saying (over phone) that he has been doing that for the past 15 years. It's impossible. GST Act came to India only in 2017. Again, (since 2017), you might have charged GST to foreigners and they must have paid. Because, foreigners don't know the GST Act in India. Moreover, the GST amount in Indian Rupees is not a big amount in their currency (say US$). Even if they knew Indian GST ACt, they just have no time to argue with your ignorant managers. For me too, the GST in Indian Rupees was not a big amount. But as an educated person, I wouldn't like to pay even a penny, if I don't need to pay. I am proud to say that I am an educated person. I had a hard time talking to your uneducated Managers. They were not evern willing to learn. NOT TO KNOW IS BAD, BUT NOT TO LEARN IS WORSE.

ThailandThis hotel is so comfortable and relaxed. The room was spacious and bed comfortable. Wifi was good. The best part about the hotel is the customer service. This was my first time in India and the staff helped me a lot with booking transfers to/from the airport, telling me how to best travel around Chennai, and making delicious meals every day. Breakfast was great and you can order lunch and dinner too. Travelling for work, I had long, busy days. So it was really nice to come back to dinner and a comfy room every evening.
