Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (i.e. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
Guidelines and Standards for Reviews

Nothing, close to bus stop and shops
Mr Thomas and his family were extremely hospitable and helpful in arranging extra nights. My sister and I stayed for 6 nights would have been for 7 had it not been for the terrible weather.

The wifi in my first room didn't work. I never seemed able to get hot water (but I also didn't ask for help because it was hot so I didn't mind cold showers). And you need to double check the cost of things. The first time I had laundry done I wasn't aware there was a cost. I would have done it myself. I was upset it wasn't made explicitly clear. It was also challenging to get it returned each time. The family stay onsite but are only really available if you actually call on the phone.
I ended up staying at Fort Garden Residency for about 2 weeks, and stayed in 3 separate rooms. The experience was very good overall, but variable in each room! Thomas, the host, is very kind, if not entirely on the ball. He gave helpful info about places to visit, and loaned me a helmet, agreed to do laundry etc. The rooms are clean and it's handy to have a mini kitchen, communal areas etc. The location is really convenient. It's pretty quiet but close to everything - beach, historic sites, restaurants etc.

Great location for exploring Kochi, very nice and helpful host and excellent value for money. Plus peace and quiet, cool garden and shared terrace. Small bathroom and view from the window on the wall of the neighboring house. No problem for me, but I take note.

The Home Stay was very clean and in a great location that was in easy walking distance of all of the shops, restaurants and attractions. The owner was very helpful and organised a boat trip for us, along with a taxi to our next location.

The Air condition in the room was a bit noisy.
I stayed 3 nights at this lovely place runned by very pleasent and helpfull host Thomas. This were my first days in India and I felt I’m in a good hands all the time. The room was quite and clean, there was nice common area and patio. Localization is totally excellent, few minutes from very nice places, such as beach, art gallery and coffe, Kochi folklore theatre, restaturants, market and many more. Hope to come there again during my next trip.

Very nice, comfortable and clean accommodation. The staff was very nice and helpful. There was wifi and air-conditioning. The place is located in a very good position in Fort Cochin, walking distance from the beach and other main attractions. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Great location, easy and super spontaneous booking and the host (Thomas if I remember correctly) was incredibly helpful and took a lot of time giving recommendations (even beyond our travel in Kochi). He has the best restaurant and food recommendations so definitely ask!

Location is just 5 minutes walking to the historic construction, churches, and many restaurants around. Less than 10 minutes walking to the water metro where you can reach Ernakulam land, and other Islands. The place has a small kitchen with fridge, toster, kettle and a small stove. Thomaz is a gentleman, always available to help and give you tips of spots and restaurants to visit.

Not much, great value for money!
Homely place right in the middle of Fort Kochi! The hosts were lovely and spoke good English. They were excellent and gave great advice on things to do and places to go.

We loved The Residency. The room and connected bathroom were clean and comfortable, some nice cafes and restaurants are only minutes away and Thomas is a very kind and helpful host. We enjoyed the close by Kathakali show and the atmosphere of the neighborhood a lot. Thank you

We initially booked Fort Garden residency and upon arrival we got told there were no more rooms available so we stayed next door. The room was essentially the same which was not a problem.
