IndiaThe bay view restaurant was badly maintained and overpriced for the ambience. The rooms are built in a way where we share the balcony walls, we could literally what everything that was going on in the other room. It didn’t feel like a relaxing holiday.
The infrastructure was lovely with access to the beach.

IndiaThey allotted V31 to us first. It’s adjacent to their beach reataurant and smell of asian food coming into our backyard was unbearable and we couldn’t use the villa’s backyard watching the sea. They changed it on our request but they should not have allotted it in the first place. Also, in V31, the intercom wasn’t working so had to walk up to reception to ask for change of villa. Hopefully, they check everything like intercom etc before allotting the villa to guests.
Location - it’s rare to have beach and sea on one side and a beautiful large garden on the other side at the same place.

United KingdomThe planting area directly out side the cottages had very shoddy planting, if any. Some colour, as even in leafy green plants, would have been pleasant. The window looking out over the beach was very dirty, as was the outside table. We asked for these to be cleaned This was the only hotel that did not offer a facecloth wipe on arrival A simple touch but would have been well appreciated The pool bar could do with some attention, ie paint. Not an attractive sight Also when there is a conference luncheon or similar which I believe happens frequently, the disturbance drifts over the pool area. Ie megaphone announcements and music. Not relaxing for those wanting to chill out

GermanyBot too much to dislike as it is a very good and well maintained property. There can be too many crows in the open/semi-open air restaurants in the daytime. Nothing that tje hotel can do but they try to take food from plates, so it can be annoying. In the sea view suite that we had, there was an issue that the jacuzzi jets in the bathtub turned on on their own at random times. I guesw they will repair that too

South AfricaIt doesn’t feel like it’s up to a 5 star standard anymore. Maintenance is very poor: Paint on tiles in pool are lifting off, causing discomfort on your feet. The bathrooms at the pool are the same as a public toilet! It stinks, wet everywhere and just not clean. One shower drain was blocked with soapy water from someone else’s shower going everywhere. Horrible! Toilet in the room flush mechanism works 50% of the time or gets stuck. The shower door mechanism holding it in position is very loose. Cupboard lights don’t switch off when the doors are closed - so the room is not dark at night. Pavement and walkways everywhere are looking shabby with broken bricks etc. - These are all things one can say should be brought to management’s attention by guests but I disagree. This is a 5 star resort supposed to be. The cleaning staff use all the same things in the room and can report the same. Maintenance staff should check up on all aspects of a room before the next check in. Why must a guest report issues that should be obvious to those who work here and must maintain the highest standard. The service is very poor for 5 star standard: Asked for the complimentary fruit platter on two days and didn’t receive it once. We are 4 people in the room but only get 3 big towels and 2 small towels. Should be 4 big and 4 small without asking. Stingy with toilet paper - should always have a spare or two in the bathroom. Didn’t replace the vanity kit in 4 days that I used on day 1. The desk chair and day bed is so dirty - we removed the chair cushion to sit on the wood just not to have to touch that dirty yellow seat. Our patio had a thick layer of dust - not cleaned or even swept once. The deluxe rooms are far from the beach access and reception so if you have difficulty walking or need to be somewhere quick you need to take the golf cart.
Stayed in a Deluxe Room Garden view with two small children. The gardens are directly accessible from the room and the kids enjoyed having that space to play. Rooms are comfortable and well laid out to have our luggage out of the way during our stay. We thought the space in this room was much better laid out than the cottages. 1 hour ride south of Chennai makes it accessible for international travellers. The beach is great and feels private. We have come a few times and it is nice for the staff to recognise us when they see us every year. We had one good meal - at Bay View but also learnt from a previous time to ask the chef not to overcook the fish and he did it perfectly this time. Kennedy, Chandru and Satya all gave us excellent service but the rest of the service was not to standard. The evening activities on the beach are great to enjoy.

South AfricaFor one night it was way too expensive and not value for money. Paid INR 20,000 for us for the gala dinner and all restaurants were closed. Had no option. But at the same time, the room cost on this platform was already triple the cost compared to other nights in the same week. Think the rate was supposed to include that dinner already and that there was a misrepresentation of value between hotel and booking dot com.
Location close to Chennai. Enjoyed the buffet at Seagull.
