All aspects of the house boat experience were very good. the staff be it the boar man , cook or the helper gulzar were extremely friendly and made sure that we were looked after very well. absolutely worth the price. Had a great and a memorable experience

I had booked one room for three adults with dinner and breakfast. It costed me Rs 10500 (including taxes) per night . I feel there is scope of reducing the charges by 10-15%

Specially Ajaz bhai and Khan bhai, they are a very nice person. Ajaz bhai arrange our tour properly and khan bhai gives us home made food that was very delicious.

Rooms are very close to each other. So there’s no privacy. Not much electricity every time there is power cuts.

Staff and service was very good. Location is good too. Specially khan Chacha was awesome. He did very good job. He cares for everyone and gives us very warm welcome. Nice talking to the owner of the boat .

The heating in the room was a bit average. The fire heater dies down late night and the room becomes chill, electric blanket was not really heating much due to low power voltage , had to manage with the heavy blankets.Not sure if this is the case with all house boats in winter.One other aspect was the rest of the rooms in the boat were taken by a larger group and they were drinking smoking and making noise in the lobby and outside and I was with my 10 year old. Did'nt find the environment so kids friendly. In Kashmir every worker asks for tips even before you give them and was found here too !

Decent house boat at decent price and great staff !The great strength of Chicago boats is it's staff that genuinely cares about customers. They try their best to make the stay comfortable with all the constraints they have like power problems and extreme cold weather.

The main issue we found with our stay in Srinagar and in Kashmir in general is that you are continuously harassed by people that want to either sell you something or are directly begging for money. Also every time you interact with someone they will ask for tips and even get angry if you don't give them an amount that they are happy with. I think this is even more evident if you are from a western country. Most of the people won't see you as a person but as a potential source of money. This unfortunately had a negative impact on our experience of Dal lake.

On our recent trip to Kashmir, we were heartily welcomed by the owner, Mr. Ajaz, who consistently went above and beyond in helping us plan our outings. His reliable presence was a reassuring aspect of our journey. Every night, a homemade meal awaited us, which we enjoyed amidst the peaceful backdrop of the Dal Lake. The attentive boat staff were always at hand, ensuring our needs were met promptly and with a smile. An extra touch that stood out was the daily welcome of Kashmiri tea and cookies, adding a cozy and delightful note to our stay. Overall, a wonderful and highly recommended place for a relaxing getaway.

Hospitality at its best it was too good to be true. They way Mohd. Bhai and Gulzar bhai treated us was amazing. House boat is an experience everyone should go for instead of staying the same city style hotels this will give you a different vibe.

The mattress was just 3 inches and was made of foam. There was no Airconditioner.
