How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

It's in the middle of Candolim. Walkable distance to lots of restaurants, supermarkets and beach front. Lovely hosts. We are group of people and bit louder. But they tolerate our noice. Big rooms and nice balcony. Very quiet neighbourhood. I would highly recommend this place and is budget friendly...

I wanted a quiet place in Candolim with restaurants nearby. Casa Joseph was exactly what I expected. Can definitely recommend. Also, the beach is not far. I had a very comfortable and spacious room.

Very comfortable and clean guest house! It's located near the Candolim beach (15 minutes by walk), main Candolim road with restaurants and shops (3 minutes by walk), Mapusa bus station (40 minutes by bus), MOPA airport (1 hour by taxi). Owners of the Casa Joseph - Louise and his wife are very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

Nothing everything was just perfect
The home stay is very good, Spacious and clean The owners are really very nice, caring and helpful I came with my husband my husband had visited this home stay earlier also with his cousin so he recomended me, in the starting i has a question in my mind that how the stay will be but as soon as i reached there i really liked it. Would recommend that you should stay here once if you want home like feel😊❤️

The hosts were very friendly and incredibly helpful. The bed was extremely comfortable and it was nice to have after having over a week's worth of the flat and hard style mattresses elsewhere. We originally booked one night but after seeing the room and how perfect the location was to everything we asked to stay another two nights which the host very easily facilitated. This place is in the best location only a 10min walk to Candolim beach, within a minute from loads of restaurants and also only 30 minutes walk to Sinquerim beach if you like to have a stroll. Taxi's were also everywhere and there was a good size supermarket within 20 seconds from the property. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in Candolim!

Room was amazing. I liked the location. Highly recommended to those who would like to stay at Candolim Goa. The owner Mr. Joseph is very very kind and sweet. He is always available to assist you. The sea is very close to the property.

The room was clean and tidy, but it felt like it was cleaned a while back. It would be better if the rooms are cleaned just before the guests arrive.
The room was massive. It could easily hold a group of 3-4. The person managing the property is the owner himself. He is an accommodating and helpful person.

This was without doubt the most pleasant place I stayed in India. Super friendly staff, secure location in a quiet street that is very close to the main strip in Candolim. The bed was luxurious, excellent shower pressure, comfortable furniture and a lovely balcony. I can't recommend enough for either a short or long stay. Superb value for money. Thanks for a lovely stay!

very comfortable- nice big spacious room with balcony. can’t complain for price. the hosts were lovely also. I felt very safe and secure here. right next to main road but quiet. one minute walk from main supermarket. will definitely return again next time we’re in candolim.

The room was pricey, but we were late with booking and it was the NYE season. So I guess the price is logical.
The family of this homestay is super super kind! On arrival we even got a private violin concert from the oldest daughter. So cute! I share the same name with their youngest son, so that was a cute encounter as well 😄. The place is clean (most important to us), although we had to kill a cockroach on the day of departure. But that is something inevitable in countries like these... The homestay has a superb location and the family is friendly and helpful. The room was very spacious and the shower was just fine.

Nothing- best place we've stayed.
The room was absolutely spotless and the furniture was really nice. The hosts were really lovely, made sure we were comfortable and helped us arrange a taxi to the airport. The room had a table and chairs and a little balcony so we could hang out in our room. Very quiet but only 30 seconds from main road which has a supermarket and loads of restaurants/cafes. A/C and fan worked perfectly. Bed linen clean.

The bed was super comfortable! The room was clean and affordable and the owners are really nice people! Location is good, close to some nice restaurants and the beach! I would highly recommend staying here!

If possible uncle should appoint some person for help out.. we feel uncomfortable to order him. As he is the owner.
