Each review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive info (e.g. emails, phone numbers, credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence

To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.

Friendly, accommodating gayatri madam,(actually we are coming early 6am and we are going late 2pm )willing to help with a smile, and incredibly welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The rooms were immaculate and very comfortable. and convenient location close to major attractions.. I personally willing to visit here again.

Atithi Homestay in Udupi is a wonderful stay option with calm surroundings yet close to all major attractions. Hosts Gayathri and Ganesh were very warm and helpful, guiding us about local places and cuisines. The rooms are clean, cozy, air-conditioned, and equipped with modern amenities including free WiFi, hot water, power backup, and tea/coffee facilities. A self-driven car was also provided at a fair price, which made our trip very convenient. The open terrace with greenery, peacocks, and a mini garden adds a refreshing charm. Food is not an issue with online delivery options and plenty of restaurants nearby. Overall, a peaceful, comfortable, and reasonably priced homestay experience

Hospitality and friendliness of our host is what we liked the most.Ganesh dropped and picked us up from the railway station even though our train going back was around 12 am.It was a big favour for us as we doubt if we could get any reliable transportation at that time.Gayathri was also very welcoming suggesting us the local foods to try and places to visit,always enquiring about our comfort

We stayed at Atithi Homestay for almost a week while settling our kids at MAHE, and it truly felt like a home away from home. The rooms were clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, and the warmth of the hosts made all the difference. They even helped us arrange local transport, which made our stay so much easier and stress-free. One of the unexpected joys was spotting peacocks leisurely strolling around the property…such a beautiful and calming sight amidst all the running around. If you’re visiting Udupi, especially with family, I’d highly recommend this place. It’s peaceful, convenient, and run by people who genuinely care.

This place is ~3km from the main udupi. So slightly far from krishna mutt and nearby temples. But the area and the place makes up for it with the greenery.
Extremely humble and friendly hosts. They even dropped us at the Krishna mutt at 5 am because we could not get any auto that early in the morning and it was a torrential downpour...The place is very clean and well maintained...This is in a residential area with beautiful houses with absolute silence and peace. Best place for staycation...

Even if I try hard, I can't point even one thing that I didn't like.
Very quiet locality yet easily accessible. Hosts are superb and one never feels one is away from home. Truly a home stay indeed.

Areas for Improvement: The external metal staircase to the first floor was a bit challenging for us as senior citizens, and there was no assistance for carrying luggage. The location was slightly remote, with limited transport options—no Ola or Uber services—requiring us to rely on the host to arrange transport. Providing a list of local auto and cab contacts in the room would be helpful. The shower lacked a curtain, leading to water spillage, and the absence of window nets resulted in mosquito issues. Additionally, there was no kitchen, and the common hall had limited provisions—tea bags, milk, and sugar were not provided.
We had a delightful stay at this property in Udupi. The room and house were impeccably clean, and the hosts were exceptionally attentive. Communication with the host was seamless, with prompt responses via WhatsApp and in person. The house was newly renovated, featuring brand-new, carefully chosen furniture and fixtures. The host's hospitality stood out—she graciously offered a complimentary meal, provided a lift to the temple, and ensured we had all the necessary amenities, including free tea, water, and an electric kettle.
