Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesOur bed was small for a double, and kind of pushed up against one wall, which meant that if the person next to the wall needed to get up, they had to climb over their partner or over the end of the bed. People considering this place should also know that there is no staff on the premises. We had to check in and out at another hotel about half a block away.
The room was located in a beautiful 18th century house on a quiet tree-lined street a 15-minute walk from the "action." On entering the house, you found a lounge with coffee, tea, fruit and little baked items from which you could easily make yourself a simple breakfast or snack. (We were surprised to see that were also bottles of liquor, although we didn't partake of them). The room was large, with tall windows on two sides, and it had several chairs which made it a very comfortable place to hang out when not out on the town or sleeping.

United StatesMissed having a small refrigerator in our room
The manager was super friendly and helpful. We managed the stairs but any people with knee issues beware. The place is charming, easy walk to a pub with outstanding Irish Stew. The sitting room has a small shared refrigerator, microwave and other kitchen items. New bathroom and large rooms.

United KingdomHaving to walk around 100 yards to collect keys from another property - a key box would be a much better option

NetherlandsIn principe there should be a parking spot for all guests but no guarantee
Excellent room. It's not the easiest to find a great place in Dublin which is central, quiet and has parking. The lounge at the ground floor was also good.

United StatesPeople should know that there was no reception in the building itself; you had to walk about a block to another hotel to check in and check out. The bed was a full-size rather than queen, which would have been very comfortable for one person, but felt a bit tight for two adults, especially since the bed was up against the wall on one side, forcing one person to climb over the other if needing to get up while the other was sleeping.
The building was a lovely 18th century house, and the rooms were restored to period styles, with modern amenities like bathroom and electrical outlets well-integrated. Windows were large sash windows that I was pleasantly surprised to discover worked very well. The location was good -- an easy 15-minute walk to the center and quiet at night. There was a nice sitting area where snacks, coffee, and tea were available free of charge. (There were also several bottles of whiskey!). The room was large and comfortable, and felt quite homey with extra chairs for sitting in to read, or whatever. In all, we were quite pleased with it.

IrelandThe place was absolutely gorgeous, to be honest the only complaint is that they undersell themselves, more pictures should be uploaded! Our apartment was at the basement level and had so much to offer from a little garden terrace to everything you could need to cook, to gorgeous little decorative features and anything we needed we didn't have to ask for because they really had everything!! Will 100% be going back and recommending it to my friends!

United KingdomA little noisy in the morning as the windows are old but it adds to the charm of the hotel.
So beautiful and located in a lovely area. I had to leave a go to a concert, I wouldn’t be back til late so they let me check in early. That was very kind. I met the cleaning lady from Mongolia and she was so friendly to me while I was waiting to get into my room. Great service!!

CanadaDirections for finding the place! Upon booking, we received a message from Kilronan House where we were to pick up the keys. It said that the Air Coach stop was very close, but did not give exact directions. We had to ask 2 people on the street for help. The layout of the room (#2) - it did not look like any of the photos on the website. The bed was pushed over into a corner on a angle and getting in & out of bed was very awkward.
The location was great - only a short walk to the Harcourt LUAS station. The bed was very comfortable and the neighbourhood was so quiet overnight. The breakfast items in the lounge were good, but it took until the 2nd day to find out there was a fridge with milk and extra fruit, so could have used better guidance on what was available in the lounge. Staff at Kilronan House were very helpful when we checked in and also in giving us directions for how to get around the city on the LUAS trams.
