How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Verified reviewThe property is a beautiful new build property using local stone in a lot of features. It was very modern and super clean . We had a beautiful room en-suite/ tea coffee maker and large tv which was used as it rained so much but nice to feel cozy in lovely surroundings. Our host Deirdre was warm and welcoming with lots of info about locality. A great stay.
Nothing .

Verified reviewLoved absolutely everything about this hidden gem of a property. The evening ride around the bay and up towards Brandon were breath taking. When arriving at the property on our motorcycles, Deirdre came out to greet us. A wonderful host whose attention to detail and thoughtful nature shone through. The room was large, clean and modern, with a nice big shower and plenty of storage space for all of our motorcycle gear. Being early evening, we quickly got ready and made our way to the small harbour-side pub ‘Murphy’s Bar’. A short 5 minute walk with breathtaking views led us to this quaint pub on the waters edge. Surprisingly busy (Friday night) and full of charm, we made the most of the night. With a lovely meal, a few beers and a live singer, this place really added to the experience of the trip. Would recommend this accommodation and location to anyone heading along the Wild Atlantic Way

Verified reviewmodern clean and comfortable very nice restroom nice family and sweet dog in the yard great lawn/garden for relaxing and close to pier beautiful home.
booking was displayed for 3 persons... was contacted day of and told we could have 2 twin beds (for 3 people) or 1 king and an air mattress.. was told we had to pay an extra €30 for an air mattress for our 13 yr old kid. It partially deflated through the night and needed refill twice.. host mentioned the mattress was new :( not sure why this listing appreared for 3 guests at one rate but had to pay extra once we arrived
Hello Carter, Thank you for your review. Please review your booking, Your booking states 2 adults, not 3 persons.Your rate was for 2 adults. You had put a note that there would be 3 persons coming. As I explained on the day, We do not take bookings for more than 2 persons per room(your rate was for 2 adults) through any website and if we do it’s generally a small child and we do charge an additional fee.We put up the inflatable and I am sorry to hear it went a little flat on you, I wish you had addressed this with us.We will take care of this matter, thank you. Our policy clearly states, Children under 2 stay free and children over 2 is an additional €30 charge. We do this to accommodate families to save them booking a second room and additional costs. Maybe next time when you’re booking, book the second room for your comfort. We look forward to welcoming you back!

Verified reviewDiedre and her daughter were very friendly and helpful. We were warmly welcomed. The property was beautiful and well maintained. Our room was super comfortable, decorated tastefully with all modern amenities. The beds were comfortable There was tea and coffee available in the room. I was so happy to see a blow dryer in the room so I could start my day with clean and dry hair. We enjoyed lots of peace and quiet, no bothersome noises. There dog Mossie also welcomed us with lots of tail wagging.
My only complaint is I wished I had booked 2 nights here.

Verified reviewWonderful stay for a night along the Dingle Way. Beautiful new property with modern finishes. Deidre met us at arrival (allowing us to check in early). Plenty of parking available on site. Rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable, same for the bathroom. So quiet at night, great sleep. While the property doesn''t offer breakfast, they have a breakfast preorder service through O'Connors in Cloghane, as well as a packed lunch service. Great option.

It was all great but it would have been lovely to have had the opportunity to have some breakfast if only a light continental one but we knew it was just a bed for the night so no disappointment at all.
