Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United KingdomA bigger bathroom would have been ideal but the layout of the building precluded that. Not really a problem.
Excellent location - close to bars and restaurants, overlooking the pier. Easy on street parking. Extremely comfortable bed

United KingdomI simply cannot fault this flat. Everything about it was perfect. The stove was so lovely, kept the flat very cosy. The stained glass feature is just amazing. The bed and pillows were more than comfortable. The kitchen has everything a person needs. I think my favourite feature was the windows, and the beautiful tree outside. And the lace net curtains. The flat has such a cottage feel. I was very happy to sit crocheting beside the fire sitting on the adorable wooden chair. It's just so beautiful. I felt sad leaving, but I will definitely be back.

United KingdomDue to the age/style of property you could hear noise between flats. This was no big deal for us but may be for others.
Excellent location. Very comfortable and clean. Stain glass feature is beautiful. I just loved the vibe of the place. Quaint, quirky and a great find for our stay.

United KingdomWhen we arrived, Martin, the host, met us at the apartment with a big smile and showed us around, and explained everything we needed to know. he helped us with our bags as both of us have health issues, which was greatly appreciated. The apartment itself is ideal with a bit of old and new furniture, it has everything you need and central to everything, 1 minute to the 2 bars and takeaways, 5 minute walk to the beach and pier .1 stunning feature in the apartment is a large stained glass window of the flight of the earls, which is a very important part of irish history, which Rathmullan itself played a part in. I would highly recommend staying there as we will be back for sure Seán & Shauna

United KingdomThe kitchenette and shower / toilet section is small and cramped, which is a great pity as there is plenty of space to have a decent sized set of facilities. The quality of the workmanship and finish is rather poor, and evidently very cheaply done. Even though the building conversion cannot be much more than a year old it looks as though it is many many years old. There are multiple types of boards used for skirting, the skirting is cut short of the architrave, there is missing architrave etc. The poor quality cheap finish is a pity as otherwise it would be great.
An Bonnan Bui was an excellent cafe, and I had visited the museum, so I knew the building and location. If you are holidaying in Rathmullan it is a perfect spot as you are across the road from the pier and beach. Surprisingly quiet at night considering there is a pub on the opposite corner. I was in the first floor apartment where the Flight of the Earls museum used to be, and the main room is a good size. For a cooked breakfast or lunch you are only a few seconds walk from Belles Kitchen.

United KingdomThe very small shower/ bathroom. The decor was very old fashioned for us and considering the price was at the higher end we expected something more luxurious.
Bed was very comfortable.Good quality bed linen. The apartment was warm, which given the awful weather was very welcome.

United KingdomReally noisy. I could hear next doors conversations clearly. Woke by the bar across the street putting out empty bottles at 1am and just general street noise. The windows are old and just don't keep out sound. If you're a light sleeper like me just bring ear plugs. There was a funny smell, I couldn't figure out until I was leaving and cleaning up, it was the fridge. But overall the place is cosy and comfortable for such a small kitchen you have enough to make a decent feed. And everything was spotless
Most comfortable bed ever. Great location. Genuinely lovely host. Cosy wee stove. Great selection of channels. Could throw a stone and hit the beach. Beware of construction on the pier this summer. Check out the wee antique shop. And the host was available the whole time and left me in stuff for the fire when it ran out.
