Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

United Statessofa pull out bed had a very uncomfortable mattress. Advertised as a one bedroom apt. not so, Very small studio apt. There was a problem with the TV but that can be fixed and host did everything possible to fix it. We were without access most of the time.
location was great. Host was personable and tried his best to make us comfortable. He is a lovely individual. View of the ocean. with a lovely terrace for good weather with table and chairs. The view made it all worth while.

IrelandA wall light up over the sofa bed would be handy as I'm reader and a hook at the back of door to hang a rain jacket.
The location is a huge winner here within walking distance of the village, the beach, good walks and the nearby bars and restaurants. I was blessed with sunny weather sothe deck overlooking the beach was beautiful. The property is certainly for a solo traveler, if it had been raining for my entire stay, I imagine it would have gotten a little claustrophobic.

IrelandSandy Cove stank of cigarette smoke, especially the bedding. While it looked lovely on the outside, internally the entire place was grimy, dusty and in desperate need of a new paint job. There was no bin, not even a plastic bag for rubbish. No dustpan, no breadknife, a cheap kettle that makes your tea taste of plastic. Inexplicably there were no handles on any of the doors, nowhere to hang clothes, no shelves, no toiletroll holder, no toothbrush holder, no dining table, no side tables, no table lamps. I feel like there was a huge effort to spend zero money on this property despite the fact Sandy Cove is clearly a converted garden shed and the owner lives in the sprawling thatched house directly overlooking the property. I'm sure he can well afford a few knobs for the doors (yes you Mark, and I hope you didn't assume that because you said hello to me I wouldn't write this review!) Overall, a very disappointing stay. Mark clearly couldn't give a monkeys about this property; if he did, he'd pull the drill out of his builders van and address the issues repeatedly mentioned by guests. Over the years I've stayed in hundreds of self-catering properties and I've only written reviews about twice when the property has been particularly bad value - it's places like this that assure me 'rip-off Ireland' mentality is still alive and well.
Beautiful location.

IrelandCould do with a little bit more storage and a bin
Great little studio- apartment. Location was perfect and had amazing views. I loved the outdoor decking area, and the half door. It was lovely to look out into the sea and hear the waves crashing. Once you are aware it is small, that’s great.

IrelandThe place was run down. One of the blinds didn't work. The hook on the back of the door stopped the blind from closing correctly and made it feel less private. The facilities aren't great. The bed is a pull out couch or a dirty loft. Overall, the cleanliness of the property could really be improved. There's spiders everywhere, and the place smells musty. The owner didn't meet me at any point and instead left a key in the door. The price of €150 a night puts a sour taste in your mouth when the facilities are in much need of an update. There are no shower gels or shampoos provided for the price point. I could not recommend this property to anyone but a solo traveller who is in desperate need of accommodation.
The property is close to everything in Dunmore East. The view is beautiful when the weather is nice. Communication with the host prior to the stay was good.

IrelandNo towels were provided, though Mark told us that was an oversight. There is no storage for bags, clothes, not even a shelf in the bathroom. The sofa bed is OK, not great. It's a shame as so much more could be done with the place, but simple things like the French doors to the deck not opening and one blind not working were an annoyance, whereas the view and the location are brilliant.
Location and view were excellent.

IrelandIt is a wonderful place where you can fall asleep and wake up to the sound of sea waves. The owner of the apartment is very friendly. A quiet town of Dunmore East with several picturesque coves and beaches and places to walk. Do not forget to visit the East Piar cafe and taste delicious fresh seafood. Sundy Cove - this is a place where you want to return!
