Breakfasts were excellent…great selection. Location for our needs very good. Size of room, comfort of the bed(s), and space for parking also great. Rachel was also extremely helpful providing lots of information about the area.

I had such a wonderful stay here! Rachael is an exceptional host — she went above and beyond, even washing & ironing my clothes for a wedding!! The rooms were extremely comfortable and the breakfast was perfect every morning, with a great variety of food and a lovely pot of tea waiting for me. The location is ideal too, just a stone’s throw from the beautiful village of Cong. Whether for a short visit or a longer trip, I couldn’t recommend this B&B highly enough!

Busy road during day if walking into Cong. There was no footpath as you stepped out of the gate. Host does warn you about being careful.

Short walk into Cong. Ideally suited for exploring Connemara and surrounding area. Friendly host.

This was a fantastic experience from start to finish. The accommodation was absolutely charming and beautifully furnished throughout. Everything felt new and was spotlessly clean, which made for a very comfortable stay. Our host Rachel deserves special mention - she was incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to make us feel at home. Her hospitality really made the difference, we insider got travel tips almost every day. The breakfast was a particular highlight and definitely not your standard Irish breakfast. Rachel surprised us with something different each day, which was a delightful touch that we really appreciated.

It is a cosy house with and interior design that makes you feel comfortable and relaxed. It is really close to the center of Cong, within walkingdistance. The hostess is very serviceminded, kind welcoming, easy to talk to and accomodating. The beds are comfortable and the room was clean and fresh. The breakfast was excellent with a variation of food every day. I would highly reccomend staying there.

    The B&B was faultless

Everything is beyond 5 star at Salmon Weir. Rachel is an incredible host and takes such care to make sure everything is perfect - very comfy beds, lovely linens and towels, home made wonderful breakfast - such a fantastic spread to be greeted with in the morning and so much choice. It's very easy to walk into the village which is only a few minutes away. Best kept secret in Cong - we will definitely be back. Thank you so much for looking after us Rachel, Harley and Susie xx

We have nothing but praise for the Salmon Weir Lodge 💯%

There was nothing not to like about the Salmon Weir Lodge, the hostess was very warm and welcoming from the moment we stepped through the front entrance, at every opportunity she would engage you in conversation, making sure your needs were well catered for, the rooms are spick and Span creating a lovely ambience throughout the building, the breakfast selection presented you with a spoilt for choice, wide abundance of breakfast delights, regrettably our stay was shorter than we would have liked, but we have every intention of making a return visit in the very near future ----- Many many thank you's Rachel, for all those little personal touches you provided!

    Nothing!

We had a great stay! The family room was the perfect size for our group, and Rachael was knowledgeable on recommendations for activities in the area. Loved that it was right on the water and walking distance from town - we went to the pubs for music in the evenings. We also enjoyed the varying (and large!) breakfast spreads each day. Breakfasts were shared at a communal table, which was great for creating conversation between groups. Rachael was super accommodating of the dietary restrictions of one member of our party.

Not a thing. Perfect in every way

Everything was perfect. The facility is beautiful. The outdoor garden areas were quite relaxing. The room was very comfortable. The common areas were welcoming and Rachael was a perfectly delightful host. The breakfast has to be seen to be believed. Amazingly extensive and extraordinarily delicious. Everything was impeccably clean and beautifully decorated. We would consider another trip to Ireland just to spend a few more days here.

Nothing! I had a wonderful stay

Rachael was a wonderful host and the breakfast each morning was superb. Rachael provided a lot of extra advice about places to visit in the region and her tips made for a memorable trip to County Mayo. The bed and breakfast is great value for money and has a comfortable sitting room with tea and coffee making facilities for guests.

Nothing really. There was some road noice due to the location.

Absolutely wonderful bed and breakfast. Old stone house which has been beautifully renovated. Cozy and stylish room and bathroom. Quality furnishings, towels. bedlinen etc.Small design features throughout the establishment provide a welcoming feeling. Beautiful patio with seating next to a waterway. Rachael is your friendly host who will provide tips for sightseeing and restaurants but also cooks a very generous and tasty breafast. Easy parking on site. Good Wifi.Very short walk from pubs etc in Cong.

    We have no complaints.

It was right next to the river. It was calming and peaceful, tastefully decorated. Plenty of food for breakfast. Amazing seating choices and very comfortable beds. Loved having a washcloth, not many places include them with linens. We will definitely try to go back for a longer stay. Rachel was a delightful hostess and gave very good advice about the sights.
