Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

This was a great place to stay, the check-in was a smooth process. The parking was ideally placed and secure. The room we had was excellent with a view of the mountains. Short walk to the centre but this wasn't an issue for us. Breakfast was great. Very friendly helpful staff.

United KingdomThe only minor issue was when we inquired about shuttle buses to Muckross and a bus to Cahersiveen; the receptionist lacked information and didn’t offer to look into it further.
Our stay at Randles Hotel in Killarney was truly enjoyable, and it’s now our go-to choice for future visits. The location is perfect, just a five-minute walk from the town centre. The hotel, housed in a beautiful period building, is clean and well-maintained. However, the decor feels a bit confused, with modern IKEA-style elements that detract from the authentic charm of the historic structure. We were upgraded to a suite, which was a lovely gesture from the staff. The room was comfortable and spotless. Breakfast was outstanding (10/10) and Margaret’s warm, local hospitality added an authentic Irish feel. Overall, Randles Hotel offered a wonderful stay, and we look forward to returning.

CanadaNo AC in the rooms!!!!!! We arrived after our long trip to an overheated room. The staff at reception was nice and provided additional fans but these did not help too much. The hotel itself has AC in the restaurant, breakfast and hallways. With temperatures being higher during the summer months in Ireland perhaps the hotel management should consider providing AC in the rooms also. I am not sure if the rooms at higher floors are also so hot. Our room was at -1 level the 600 series at was very hot. To make it worse, due to security, the window did not open more than a couple of inches. The hallway of the room is painted in an extremely dark color making it difficult to see anything without turning the light on. It felt like we are somewhere underground.
The patio, bar and restaurant is welcoming and really comfortable. Rooms are also comfortable. Bar and restaurant staff is great. Cleaning staff also great. We met Justin, at reception, after our check in earlier with a different receptionist. Justin is great and helpful. He really goes out of his way to help in any way he can. Justin recommended us a great tour of the ting of Kerry. All in all a very nice stay.

AustraliaEverything was great - one thing I would say is that they didn’t have enough fans so we had no AC or fan in our room. It wasn’t too bad but didn’t get a bit warm at some stages
Amazing staff, very comfortable and felt quite luxurious. Would like to highlight the staff once again as they were great in organising some drinks after a special event!

United StatesThat we only booked two nights! Lol. There was NOTHING we would change.
This place was PERFECT!! And I mean, PERFECT!! We booked a townhouse room and if you don’t mind a 4 minute walk to the main building, you will love it as well!!! Newly opened/renovated and they knocked it out of the park!! Drinks were delish! Staff was beyond attentive. And then there is Justin Tuason at the front desk!! He is so polite and friendly and knows everything and I mean EVERYTHING about Killarney. We forgot to make reservations for dinner, no problem, Justin grabs the phone and calls the manager. Table for two! Booked! If you’re old enough to have seen Pretty Woman, the hotel manager from the Regent Beverly Hills… Justin puts him to shame!!! Justin, you made the stay a 10,000/10!! We will be back and we will stay much longer than two days. Hopefully at Christmas because apparently Killarney CRUSHES Christmas!!!

IrelandThe bar appeared understaffed and the staff appeared undertrained. While the young man working the bar had exceptional customer service skills, we did find it took him quite a while to prepare our cocktails and he was reading instructions, he was the only one in the bar and was only sent there when we asked if the bar was open. Granted this was during the day. Some of the mod-cons in the hotel are not up to the standard one would expect at a 4 star hotel, the display fireplace in our room had a remote control that was not functional, it could be turned on manually but it wasnt clear how to do so until we received instruction from staff. The bath appeared to have a jacuzzi jet system but it was also unclear how this functioned. The spa and pool are permanently closed which was very disappointing and overall there are just a few things that fall short when a person is expecting a 4 star experience.
Reception staff were very helpful, the decor was extravagant and the rooms were luxurious and well fitted. The building still retains its victorian grandeur even with added mod-cons. Our room was upgraded. The view of Killarney National Park and the McGillicuddy Reeks from the rooms at the front of the hotel is absolutely spectacular and the location is very central to Killarney town.

United StatesThe townhouses are NOT right behind the hotel as we thought. They are about 3 to 4 blocks away. We dropped our luggage early in the morning for them to store, and had to haul our luggage those four blocks to the townhouse. No offer of taking the luggage over for us, which they said was a miscommunication with the morning staff person. Needless to say we were not happy as we were walking our luggage further and further and further to find the townhouse. When we arrived in our room, the air conditioning was stuck on, (thermostat did not work) and it became very very cold in there. Same with our daughter‘s room. Justin came to attempt to fix it for us and couldn’t have been nicer. And thank goodness this happened, as we discovered the front desk forgot to give us keys to get into the outer door of the townhouse. We would not have known that and would’ve come back later on in the evening and not been able to get in. By the way-€100 fee for losing your key- unheard of!! Electronics and USB panel next to the beds did not work, and the bed was stiff. Lots of glitches for them to work out yet!
Townhouses were newly remodeled. Beautifully decorated. Lots of high tech luxuries. Very clean. Walkable to town.
