Read more– opens a dialog boxEach review score is between 1 and 10. To get the overall score you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of them. We use a weighted review system, which means the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. Guests can also give separate “subscores” in crucial areas like location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value, and free Wifi. Note that guests submit their subscores and overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an accommodation that you booked through our platform if you stayed there, or if you got to the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialize in detecting fake reviews submitted to our platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team so that our fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we'd publish every review we get, positive and negative. However, we won’t display any reviews that include or refer to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out. We may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old, or if the accommodation has a change of ownership.
An accommodation can reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (e.g. language, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). You can sort and/or filter them by time of year, review score, and more.
Sometimes we show external review scores from other well-known travel websites, but make it clear when we do this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly, without limiting expression or strong opinions. They're also applicable regardless of the comment's tone.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, or the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and other similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties, and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options might be available (by type of traveler, by score, etc...).

NetherlandsThe cottage felt too small for a family of four with grown boys, and only having two double beds made sleeping arrangements cramped. There was hardly any space for clothes, which made it difficult to settle in comfortably. Kitchen facilities are lacking—there is no dishwasher, not enough plates, cutlery, or even a proper dish rack, so cooking and eating in is not recommendable. Although a washing machine exists, it is not permitted to use, which was disappointing for a longer stay. Overall, the property is charming but not very practical for families needing space and basic amenities.
Loved the authentic and cosy cottage right by The Burren National Park—such a fantastic spot, and only about 30 minutes from the Cliffs of Moher, making day trips really easy. The setting is peaceful, and the nearby ocean besch and village are both beautiful and charming. The host was genuinely nice and welcoming, which made the stay even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a real Irish cottage experience in a stunning location.

United KingdomThe bathroom and the kitchen are both cramped. TV reception poor, we relied on streaming from our phone.
Cute little house which is good for a short stay with family.

United StatesThe bathroom wc was very poor at flushing. Kitchen was 'tight' and pots, crockery etc came from a jumble sale. There was a definite lack of room to hang clothes no drawers or robes. Dangerous bend to back car in/ out of. needed Lookout to give the all vlear...a mirror opposite the drive would help. By spending a few Euro this place could be vastly improved...like replace the wooden rail the shower curtain jams on...replace "split" bathroom door. Remove duct tape from floor edge. Cut thorny rose bush by paring space...rips knitwear.
Really quaint thatched former fisherman's cottage.

IrelandWe had a great stay in Oranuisce. It's a lovely, tastefully restored old cottage that keeps its traditional feel and atmosphere but also provides all modern comforts. It is located beside the road, but as it's not a busy road, noise is not a problem. There are nice outside spaces behind and to the side of the cottage where one can eat and sit out in good weather. There are also great views of the sea. The kitchen and bathroom are a little small and old fashioned but perfectly functional.

IrelandDidn’t like that the bathroom was off the kitchen.
We enjoyed the comforts of the cottage especially the stove in the winter evenings. The scenery is beautiful and we enjoyed eating in the nearby seafood restaurants.

United KingdomFirst impressions of property-gardens were disappointing(grass not cut, weeds as tall as the outdoor tables, furniture broken-very different from advertised images) Had been looking forward to being able to relax outdoors and enjoy the views but the space was quite unpleasant. Toilet didn’t flush properly. Mouldy full baby bottle left under sofa, giving the impression that a thorough clean wasn’t done prior to our arrival. Mouldy door frame. For the price some basic common courtesies such as some milk for a cup of tea on arrival and enough tea or coffee for our entire stay. Clothes hangers and somewhere to hang even just a couple of items of clothing would have been handy and even an extra roll of toilet paper would be nice. I appreciate that the property is an old, thatched cottage and to be honest that was its appeal, I had been happy to pay a premium price but expected my return to be a comfortable and clean living space. The photos and information on the website are misleading and some information just wrong.
Comfy beds, neat bedrooms, central location for where we wanted to go, nice theme within the cottage, lovely views😊

IrelandThe property looked clean but on closer inspection it wasn’t. We went to cook dinner there was hair in the frying pan. Pots were dirty. The oven was not clean again hair or whatever was in it. The place needs a good clean. I would suggest a deep clean to include kitchen bed rooms. The place needs a good dusting. We decided to leave early as I could not expect my family to stay the second night.
The cottage is nice from the outside.

IrelandFirst and foremost - that it is dog friendly. Beautiful traditional thatched cottage with everything needed for a comfortable stay. Paul the host was very accommodating and friendly, he was responsive and helpful which made me feel at home in the cottage. I appreciated all the welcoming touches, from the chilled drinks and snacks, to the fuel for the stove and Christmas decor. Beds were lovely, and the sofa was extremely comfortable. The enclosed back yard was so handy for my little dog. The whole place is gorgeous, really. Location also superb as a base.

FranceThere is nothing i can think of that we didn't like : everything is thought for, there is even an emergency kit ''just in case'' that we found very practical as you never know when you'll need a plaster with two 4years old around, or for the blisters i had after a long walk !
There was nothing we didn't absolutly loved ! Everything was perfect : from the lovely location (the view on both the shore and the moutains is gorgeous plus the cottage itself is beautiful and well decorated), the beds were super comfy, the snacks left and even the little gift for pour special occasion were soo thoughtful ! We enjoyed everyminute of our stay and we'll definitly think of this place if we ever come back to the area ! We totally recommend Paul's place to anyone ; in addition, he took time to answer our questions, to explain where the shops were, what road to take if we wanted to go sightseeing, which restaurant etc... It's a 10/10 for us ! The kids loved it there as well ❤️ they already miss the playground in Ballyvaughan that they enjoyed so much !

IrelandI have always wanted to stay in an authentic thatched cottage and Oranuisce was everything I had hoped for and more. The cottage is comfortable and tastefully decorated and we enjoyed watching the sunrises in the morning over Galway Bay and sitting out the back with fantastic views of the Burren in the evenings. We had our own car and it’s close to lots of lovely places to see including Doolin and the Cliffs of Moher. There are also some super traditional pubs nearby and great seafood restaurants. The host was most welcoming and responsive too. Thank you.
