Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaThe only thing that could be improved is a certain lack of furniture in the upstairs rooms. The are quite spacious, but lack wardrobes. So you live out or your suitcase or from the floor (what we did, because it was very clean and space was not a problem).
The House is situated in the countryside, a beautiful landscape with direct view to the sea and walking dinstance (30 minutes) from the Cliffs of Moher. The village of Doolin is also walking distance (30 minutes). It is quiet, nicely located and utterly romantic. And a lot to explore in the surrounding area. The house itself is spacious with 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms and a very nice and well equipped kitchen/dining area and sitting room. Quite homely. We stayed for 5 days but could have done so much longer. The house could accomodate 8 people if the dining table were larger.

United StatesThere wasn't a thing that I didn't like about this house.
This house was exactly what we wanted - looking out at the Ocean, near town and close to the Cliffs of Moher. Also, the amount of space inside and out was perfect for the amount of people we were staying with.

The house is located on a cliff / high ground overlooking the sea, so breathtakingly beautiful. It has a huge garden, parking space and some gentle, curious cows next door. Everything was provided and was complete in the house, from the kitchen to living room, washing machine, cozy bedrooms. The house was really clean and cozy. The house close to Doolin Pier and the Doolin viewpoint, it's about 10mins drive. The hosts, Marie and Marcus were really friendly and helpful as well, which made our stay really great. If we ever come back to Ireland and Doolin, we'd love to stay here again!

IrelandThere is really nothing not to like about the house and the surrounding areas its a fantastic place.
We had a fantastic stay at this house in Doolin!. The place was spotless, with everything incredibly clean and well maintained. the bed were super comfy, perfect for relaxing after a busy day exploring the area. The heating kept the house warm and cosy, and the location just couldn't be better. Its close to the Cliffs of Moher, Aran island tours, local pubs and all the charm of Doolin. The owners were wonderfully hospitable and made us feel right at home. Highly recommend this place for anyone Visiting the area.

IrelandJust only 1 thing, perhaps bleed the radiator in the en-suite and pop a moisture proof blind on the velux , just for coziness. I would recommend a bathroom fan heater. Also perhaps pop a wardrobe into the bedroom with the sea view. Fab house must say!
Fantastic location, lovely comfy house, definitely will return. Lovely reception on arrival.

United StatesIt didn’t have a clothes dryer and it was a bit tough to find a dry day to hang up wet clothes to dry on the outside line. The upstairs shower was a little small.
The view was breathtaking. My wife and I were in the upstairs bedroom with the big windows and it was simply wonderful going to sleep with the view of the lighthouse blinking on the island and then waking up in the morning to the views of the ocean. Just wonderful. My wife made friends with the cows who were sometimes in the fields around the house.

United StatesThat I had to leave this beautiful place!
The location is amazing for visiting the Cliffs of Moher, The Burren, and Doolin (or just relaxing). The home also has a beautiful view of the Aran Islands and the surrounding landscape. It was spacious, comfy, and had everything we needed for cooking meals. Also, communication with the owner was easy and responses were quick. I would highly recommend staying here!!

United StatesNext time, we will rent a car. Our host thought we would be able to adapt to driving on the left side of the road. Having a car would have given us more freedom to explore the area.
The view of the fields and the ocean were magnificent! We enjoyed walking around the area and into Doolin to the pub and the shops. Watching the cows graze was meditative!

United KingdomThe house just needs a little bit of money spent on it as some things need upgrading. E.g. downstairs shower is a bit of a dribble, downstairs double bed mattress sinks in the middle, upstairs windows need re-sealing, cheese grater is rusty. Cleaning was OK, although it would have been nice not to have to get all the crisps out of the large sofa. Some more local tourist information would have been helpful. There isn't a bottle bank behind McDermott's pub in Doolin so the recycling information needs updating.
Amazing location, comfortable and cozy house.
