How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We use a weighted review system which means that the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The swimming pool was great, albeit a bit cold but most hotel pools seem to be.
Family room - good size, enjoyed meals both evenings and in hotel and breakfast.

It was very cold in the room and the breakfast was limited and not the best testing.

Not that it bothered us much, but the key to our room didn’t work on two occasions, and after a 240km drive both times, it was slightly annoying. But excellent service from hotel reception made up for any annoyance.
Great staff, grand old hotel ambiance.

Rooms are a small bit dated. Would recommend to bring your own hair dryer. The breakfast is not that nice.
Lovely staff, great location and pool facilities were perfect. We would stay again.

scenery. Location was prime.
We had a wonderful time on our tour of Ireland and enjoyed our one-night stay. The hotel was clean, and the scenery was absolutely beautiful. The front desk staff, especially the young man who assisted us, was very friendly. The bartender in the evening was also very pleasant. However, I did find the team managing the gym to be a bit rude. Overall, it was a great experience!

No air-conditioning and it was very hot and muggy. They did give us an extra fan and some bottles of water, but it still was way too hot.

We feel that the hotel could start integrating some more technology into the rooms whilst retaining the character.
Character and tradition of the hotel. Service and staff excellent under difficult circumstances whilst we were there.

Some parts of the hotel are showing age, and traditional decor in need of updating in some places.
Historic, classical hotel is good location in the town. Facilities for food/drink were excellent, bedrooms were well appointed, but ‘traditional’ in style and could be refreshed/updated.

It would be nice to have an elevator for bags. Our room was very warm even with the window open. The jacuzzi in the leisure center was not hot , normally 104F where we come from
We enjoyed the accommodation and the restaurant in a beautiful setting. The beds were nice and the room was a good size.

Stayed in room 25 absolutely fabulous but not at 30 degrees room was literally unbearable . Could only open a small window Went to reception staff and they were fantastic lady on reception moved us to another room . Never got her name but she is a gem . One other little thing maybe have a option to ring a room from leisure centre . Had Forgot the swimming hats and inhaler and wanted to ring husband to bring down and staff advised that u can't ring rooms from leisure centre so had to walk back .

Rooms could do with a bit of a modern spruce but were immaculately clean!
Lovely welcoming hotel, with a decent hot buffet breakfast. Bar was busy (in a good way!) with plenty of space to sit and great atmosphere. Felt welcoming with a toddler too. Room was comfortable and clean. Access to a pool, jacuzzi and steam rooms was great.

The bed in the room was only a double I would have thought all beds would be a minimum 5’ ? Leisure centre needs a refresh ( however I think they are in the process of updating the hotel)
A lovely building, reception and bar are very inviting. Plenty of off street parking.
